Try vibrating with a orbital sander and pulling\turning the sections at the same time. Or tapping it at the joint to add a shocking jolt to release it at the same time twisting and pulling.

Forgot to mention I love Fishhawk thread. Wasnt it in the fuji catalog at one point. If it is alive and kicking where can I get more details? Website? catalog? Edit** Errr. They are now a sponsor here duh. When did this happen. And why do I still remember seeing some news of their demise.

I found Dale Clemem's book online to read for free. My question is did the copyright run out or soemthing to allow it to be put online? How long is the copyright good for before it becoems public domain. Or does it ever. That book must be close to 20 years old or a little over. Anyway thanks all.

Wow all these sponsors are not able to pay the bills on this wedsite?!?!?! How much bandwidth is being used here? Is this running on a dedicated server or something? Or maybe the prices I have in my head for advertising here are way way lower than I thought. For some reason I believed this site could be run on a $10 a month plan with the amount of posts and users I see here. There must be tens of

Forgot to mention those are rouge blanks and they are slightly on the light side. I like to see a little rod bend too : ) .

Depends on how much the fisherman likes to fight the fish and see the rod bend LOL . My friend uses a 10-25 blank for this from loomis. The way you fish for them is just park the boat over them and anchor, cut crabs, halved or quartered with the 6-8oz sinker over a wreck or some kind of structure. When the fish takes it must be quickly pulled up and away from the wrecks, they imediately wa

I forgot to mention you could just run the drill like normal without the pedal. My friend makes long butt wraps and underwraps so he likes to use the pedal in addition to uses his lathe to turn on. Otherwise he would just pop offf the belt and wrap by hand.

My buddy and I rigged a drill to his renzetti. We just used those flexable pipe clamps to hold it down. We cut the shaft off his burned motor and just used it in the chuck with the original pulley. He uses it with the dayton foot pedal rated at 6amps. This is the only foot pedal can hold a drill without burning itself up.

I really like the rouge line of saltwater balnks very light and sensitive. They have rods designed for most of our coasts and best of all the blanks are available. Also have a look at batson's eglass series of salt water blanks if you dont want to spend a ton. They are a nice mix of sensitivity and toughness. Also look at lamiglass thye have to much to list, I think they make a blank for everyth

Would a perfectly balanced rod change this since it would take very little to move it one direction or the other?

Cured carbon is kinda sandable and cutable so if there are some mess ups you can repair them. hope that makes sense. cut your foam 1-2 mm diameter smaller than the intended size you need the grip to end up being. 1mm being very thin finish coatings on the carbon. 2mm being a thick coating ie: using threadmaster heavy as the final coat. you need a caliper for this. There was nothing wrong wi

If you use rod armor It looks like the 4lb cores are not hard enough, try the 6ib or 8lb. The 4lb really needs a hard outer shell or it will get dented or damaged pretty easy. I can indent it with my fingers if a sqeeze it to hard that should give you an idea.

What I have in it is this... 10 ft real carbon sleeve 1.25 X 2.57 $25.00 west systems epoxy or other brand $60 shrink tubing to try both ways of doing it. $10 5pcs of 12" foam cores x $4.79 each $25.00 maybe $15 -$20 to ship all this stuff. I think this is more realistic list of supplies if you want to try this as a first timer. The post above assumed you wanted to substitu

Pretty much in the same boat as the post above, about $100 bucks in if your not making alot of these handles they are expensive. If its just for the coolness factor and just the fun of trying something new the money isnt relevant. Lets face it rod building is expensive in general if your going to get deep into it.

Are you guys still feeling the texture of the carbon sleeve or are you putting on enough finish that it will feel like your holding a piece of smooth plastic? I was wondering which would feel nicer underhand.

Very nice guys. I was waiting for these as I have used the double foot ring lock Titans In the past on salt water rods. These guides are very cost effective and so far are holding up well. Now with the fly guides I can build some nice black bass rods. Amtak rocks! Thanks and congrats on the new product!
