Mudhole's Clout?

Aparently Mudhole has alot of clout with Amtac. This is the second time I see them selling guides that havent been announced yet. It completes their titanium line a a little more somewhat..

Its half a product though until....

We see some Tiptops !!!

Henry, I bought some of these last time I was over at the Mudhole - Chase Foster (of AmTak) said he had just got them in, and I traded in a set of Fuji Titanium's I had when I seen these. AmTak had an issue with their Titanium alloy being a little too soft, IMHO. I think that they may have finally solved that problem now. These new Titanium ring lock fly guides ( NIRLF) are awesome! I hurt my fingers tring to bend them. These are what I've been waiting for. You really should try a set. You won't be disapointed. I love 'em.
BTW - I agree about the tiptops... till they start making them, I'll use Fuji's Titanium tiptops.

Henry,

I'd have to guess it has something to do with their ownership stake in Amtak? Just a guess...

Ownership and sharing a building helps! Both great companies, great service!

Hi Henry,

All our distributors have clout as far as we are concerned. If they choose to distirbute our products we will always support them and Mud Hole is no different. Mud Hole is very efficient at marketing and always quick to move on new products (too quick on Fuji and some others). They offer our complete line as well as our competition's and they do a good job for us all. I will admit American Tackle is a bit behind in announcements which we are improving on, we are a small company without the marketing department Mudhole has. These guides are very new and only some larger manufacturers and a few distributors have seen them. We run ads in Rodmaker for Titan Ringlock and should have something in the new product section soon. We also ran a full page ad for Titan Ringlocks in the recent edition of Tackle Trade World which included the fly guides in the product preview section. due tot he ads and some manufacturer interest we are currently building inventory in order to have sufficient quantities for distribution so we are taking orders, Mud Hole's included.

Mark has an interesting guess, although he's not one of our distributors, so it would only be a guess. Mud Hole owns nothing in American Tackle, however there is a partner in both companies. They are separate companies working for a common goal, distributing rod components. Mud Hole has advantages and disadvantages as does American Tackle with common locale. Mud Hole can place their orders, but they wait in line like everybody else. American Tackle can have its entire product line on an up-to-date web site and catalog, however we see our competitors along side of us as well, so its always a give and take. One thing that is not left up to a guess, is the fact that American Tackle is the first company to institute and uphold policies to make the playing field fair for every one of its distributors. All have equal access to products, pricing, marketing materials and we encourage all to participate, including Mud Hole (which they have). Distributors that do not wish to participate, don't.

Henry, the guides are truley outstanding, and I am very pleased with how they came out. The tops are not available yet, but stay tuned for more products from us. I am not necessarily keeping track, but I have to believe we come out with more new products year in and year out than anybody which means we need to stay on our announcement process. Hope you try the new guides.

Henry,

Those guides were announced in RodMaker so Mud Hole didn't have them prior to them being announced. Sometimes you just have to stay up to date with the latest literature in order to see what's new and coming from all these various companies. The internet is usually a bit behind on that sort of thing.

Very nice guys. I was waiting for these as I have used the double foot ring lock Titans In the past on salt water rods. These guides are very cost effective and so far are holding up well. Now with the fly guides I can build some nice black bass rods. Amtak rocks! Thanks and congrats on the new product!
