hes asking if the effect of wetting the decal with finish will hide the scuff marks he made by mistake on it. much like sanding finish then applying another coat then it looks as if it were never sanded. If I had to guess I would think it will UNLESS there is sanding dust stuck in the scuff lines.

Billy Billy I saw you pull 5 threads and I was inspired, to the N, to the E, to the R, to the B, in that meeting it stood with me, my heart felt new, no more was that butt wrap task so dire, no more would my neck,my arms,my shoulders feel fire. I followed that lesson and my work I did admire. Here I link to my wrap sire. Thank you Billy V.~!

err why is it a secret who sells it? Please email me to if you know the best place to get it. Thanks. On another note i believe this is the stuff alot of lure builders are using to coat jigs and things like this to make the finish more durable.

That lihgtg version drys pretty soft you might have to baby the rod or the finish will get damaged, the threadmaster heavy drys with a much harder surface.

all you need is sand paper, keep a steady even presure. Use a 8 long section maybe 1" 1/2 wide hold it in two hands like you are slowly polishing with a rag. and work it back and forth its very easy a little at a time if you try and force it to cut to fast thats when you will get hump somewhere. Keep your RPMS pretty high this will insure you are cutting into the cork evenly all the way arou

Jim - those blanks are awesom, I have fooled with the factory versions of rods. The 7' 9" is only rated 1-4 oz and 8' 0 is 20 - 50 it felt to stiff. They are definately the top contenders. If the price were lower this would be a no brainer they need to make these blanks in the SC III variety perhaps to get the price down some. Spencer - I have built a few on the swimbait special blank XC9

Has anyone found a swimbait blank for 1 - 6oz baits 7'6" - 8' 0" that seems to be balanced very well. And also feels light for what it is? I dont think anything exsists but it doesnt hurt to ask. Thanks all..

I built on that blank a few times i did test cast it but with much heavier weight than you are having problems with. I used the TAT guides wow are they nice. the rod felt like it had no guides on it. : ). One thing about batson blanks I have found so far are they are somewhat under rated. I can use much heavier lures than they are rated for is what im getting at. I havent really tried going i

sounds like the surface has contamination. Do you have something else to test the finish on. Try it there and see you will know more or less by then if it was the finish or the surface that has the problem. You can always sand it back down and try again when you figure out what it is. If it is the finish sand it down once again just get the lumps out then use another brand and it should b

Im wondering if that # 20 guide is to small for whatever your doing with it and the lighter weight baits dont have the weight to pull whats choked through.

I guess they wil just read the thread deem all who complained here crack pots and move on if there is no real problem. Since thousands of people say that there is nothing wrong with gudebrod thread why bother contacting them, now there is nothing wrong. Make up your mind either there is something wrong and people should complain or there is nothing wrong.

The loomis bronze blank is not same as the factory rod if I remember right Incase your trying to match that. I once called loomis to ask about the color for the IMX series thread. It took some doing but I got the person who actually does the ordering for their thread supply and got the right answer.

If it bothers so much just email gudebrod and point at this post, all the hard work is done already... Any company that cares would read this and say hold on a sec we have real problem.

I know of only one blank in that length with those specs... It a rouge blank... ROGMB764* 7'6" 1 6.5 0.590 8-17 1/4 3/4 MED-HVY FAST Other than that I would settle on a loomis MB GLX or IMX in a 7' model and maybe extend it. OR just switch to braided fishing line and flouro leader and be able to feel the fish breathing on the line.

I never used it or seen it but after googleing for it I have to say it looks very promising its a synthetic man made cork that claims all the properties they even sell it in rings. Its black in color. Very interesting indeed.

For me its been more than just missing sections of foil over the thread.. look at the picture its very hard to tell and pickup in the camera since everything is trying to refelct light here but. The spool on the left has SECTIONS of the thread with a sorta milky white film over the silver leaveing it dull/shiny when wrapped on a rod I have a aweful looking silver and white milk silver var
