121. Re: Rod Wrapper
Yes, that's the one. I have a couple of other pictures that might help if anyone is interested in making something like that. For lathes like the Custom Power Wrapper and others on that same sort of extrusion it may require making a whole new thread carriage if you want to use the 4oz spools. I use 6 to 8 oz weights depending on what I'm doing. The nice thing here is that the tension stays th

If you will go to my Photo gallery you will see a thread tensioning method that will allow you to back up the distance your lathe is off the floor. It also allows you to set and keep a constant tension on your thread. That set up is easy to make and is on a Renzetti Lathe, but I have put it on all of my lathes. If you need more of an explanation and can't find the associated post send me an E-

Steve; I think the last one I used was Casson's but I have tested so many, I don't recall. I would have to go home and look.

I haven't used Chromoseal but the only time I ever got blotches like you describe, I was sold CP from a shipment that had been frozen on the shipping dock.

I found out a long time ago, when building Guitars, that it took just as long to make a piece of junk as it did to make a good one. My advice would be, get the best blank and components you can afford, years from now you will be glad you did.

Yes, if I recall correctly there was a device into which the rod blank was fit, much like a unibutt with an off set fore grip. I don't remember what the name was but it was around some years ago.

Bill; We don't manufacture blanks 8" too long and then cut off the 8" and throw it away. Way too expensive. We give you an inch or so on each end to trim if you wish. How do you know it's a Seeker? Does it have the Seeker lable on the blank with BT 20 written on it? If you can take a picture of the lable I would like to see it. The other thing you can do is look inside the butt end

How about shrink tube over the cork wrap?

Blank design, and the line rating are related to the amount of drag you set on the reel. Drag settings are typically 1/4th to 1/3rd the line rating. A rod rated for 30# line would be expected to have 7.5 to 10 pounds of drag set on the reel. Unfortunately people forget when they load a reel with 85# braid and put it on a blank rated for 30# they have way overlined the blank if they set drag pr

The answer to your question is, it depends on which React series you are asking about. They are both "S" glass and Composite blanks. The blanks we make for Swampland are to to their specifications, so plase don't ask me, ask them. The blanks used for our finished rods are listed with the rods on the Seeker Web site at, www.seekerrods.com.

Cork Tape rods usually do not have a reel seat but there is no reason you can't use one. You can cover the ends of the CT with shrink tube, a Turks head or a Cord Wrap if you like.

138. Re: EVA durability
Hard and slick surfaces do NOT make a good rail rod fore grip. They are hard to control on the rail, could damage the rail when sliding and need to give/bend with the rod. Rail rod fore grips are typically 14" to 16" in length. As Billy said, Think about it. XTube over Hypalon is OK but cold shrink over Hypalon is better and tougher.

Even if you see a picture you will not be able to discern the most important part of the Renzetti thread carriage and tensioning method. The threaded post the spool is mounted on has a flat machined in the threaded end to accept a D ring washer. That allows you to tighten the wing nut to apply tension to the spool but will not allow the wing nut to back off as the spool turns because the washer

Phil; Your line ratings will determine what you can use as a drag settings. You can also point your rod at the fish and put all the pressure on the line instead of putting a bend in the rod.
I built a Spinning rod for a customer here on a SS CJBF70M for his Stella 20000 and we put 40 pounds of drag on it. I tied him off to our fork lift and backed up until he broke the 85 pound braid he had

Justin; You ought to try and get Bill to let you borrow one of the prototypes he's harboring. If you fish the breakwalls for bass you'll like it. A little heavier than what you have but casts quite well.
