Spring steel for thread carriage

Hey guys where are you getting your spring steel for your thread carriage. I know I can order it but im hoping to source it locally. Doubtful any home improvement shop like Lowes would carry it. Anthing out there I can tear apart to get some ??? Or alternatives

If your hardware store doesn't carry it try a hobby shop.
