The strongest bond is the thinnest layer of epoxy. Most epoxy's were not designed to be used as a "filler"

Last one I built for a customer was on a XSB802.75 RX8, and he absolutely loves it and fishes it heavily in tournaments.

611. Re: senko rod?
Mb843 is way too heavy of a rod for drop shot or senko fishing in my opinion, and way too heavy of a line wt rating for finisse fishing

I most generally tailor it to what the customer wants in relationship to the length of the grip that they want whether it be a full or split grip. Have built as short as 7". and as long as 14". I have a prototype blank that I use and position it to what feels best to that particular client.

I certainly do like building and using them. but a lot is determined on what the client wants, not just my personal preferences.

I've never had a problem with the ACS seats, and you cannot just go up to a 17 because of the ID . These seats are ID specific to the location on the blank where you want the seat to set.

You will find that if you use a roller bearing instead of a ball bearing it will clean the edges a lot better and eliminate the majority of the problem

Although this is an open forum, even though I don't use this particular individual, I don't think this is the place to bash one of the sponsors. The issue should be addressed completely one on one with the person. If the results are not to your liking, then just do not use again, simple as that.

Thats exactly what I think. Although I have not had any problems without the mixer, have not had any with it either. Almost has to be human error factor.

I am going to have to disagree on the 8' a 9' will actually help him where his back cast will be higher off the ground/water which is better for a young child just learing the techniques involved.

Just go on to Batson site under the tech side, go to recipies for a 805-4 and it will give you a rough idea of sizes and components to use

When I used titebond III it did not hold on the eva, so I went to using rod bond on both sides of the eva, and it is pretty solid.

I recess all by butt ends with a crafty's cutter then usually use a coin, button etc glued into the end recessed appx 1/32 to 1/16 of an inch.. The possibilities and assortments from craft or sewing shops are virtually endless.

To start with, you should never try and "eyeball" a finish mixture. They are designed to be precisely mixed on a 1 to 1 ratio.
What you might consider is trying it on just one of the guides on each rod and see what the results are. If it doesn't work, nothing lost, as you would have to strip it anyway. I can't give an exact answer, because I have never had this scenario happen to me a

My own personal casting rod are right at 13" from the trigger of the seat to the butt, which puts it right at the meaty part of my arm. On my customer builds, I have a mock-up rod with the butt end installed, and setup with a sliding reel seat to to adjust to the customer's preference.
You would really be surprised how peoples preferences can differ from one to another.

Just a small bit of humor to add to a very enlightening post that a lot of people have never considered.
"Don't they have fish up there, and need custom rods?"
