More than likely, alcohol isn't going to remove the screen printed logo. It will take something much harsher, such as acetone or laquer thinner. The problem is, those may ruin the paint as well. As Bill suggested, try it on an area that will covered with the seat or grip prior to trying it on the logo. Fast and stiff are not the same thing. Fast action describes how it flexes. If most of the initial flex is in the upper 1/3rd of its length, it's a fast action blank. The numbers would indicate a Fly Rod, 9' 6-weight in 4 pieces. The problem is, that's common nomenclature used by several companies. We did an article on this recently and many manufacturers chimed in with what they recommend for their particular blanks. Most said, no, that it wasn't necessary. But some still recommended it. I'd go with what your particular blank maker advises. When in doubt, just wrap it and that way you don't have to worry about it. ...........
