Hi guys, yesterday when I asked about using microwave guides I got 14 replies, only one of which dealt directly with the question as asked. Thank you Wes (a little more info would have been welcome however). Jim, Jim, and Dennis I shoud have a Fuji tattoo, I've been using them since Lew Childre was still around and if anyone asks I still say Fuji is #1. I feel that Lew and Doug Hannon were cut fr

So, let's say you're going to built the best casting spinning rod possible. 7ft., 8-14lb. mono, 1/4 to 5/8 oz. lure. Does it get Microwave guides or not? Thanks, Lynn

I sent 3 of these guides back to Mudhole care of the rodbuilding dept.because I spoke to a guy in that dept. who assured me that Pacific Bay woud be notified of the situation. This after being shot down by a Gentleman who shall remain unamed who stated (via operator of course) "we are not aware of any problems with Minima guides" Well you're aware of it now, and you have some of the bad

I just had this issue with Minima 3's. I sent a few to Mudhole for them to inspect. They were BF3XG size 5. I had them cut the line on the trial run for the rod. I came home and cut 5 of them off and replaced them. The first 4 guides from the reel out were also Minima 3's BT3XG double foot and they were fine. Thanks, Lynn

O n Tues. morning I read a post about Utmost Enterprises cork closeout. I ordered 5 pieces of cork and a reelseat on Tues. afternoon, and it was in my mailbox at 10 this morning, less than 48h.r.s later. I was charged $2.68 for shipping. I live 2900 miles from Utmost. This unbelievable service for an order that totaled less than $20.00. We hobby builders can't write off inflated shipping charges,

On Tues, morning Mick Batson posted about a cork closeout at Utmost Enterprises. I ordered a reel seat and 5 pieces of cork that afternoon. My order was in my mailbox at 10a.m. this morning, less than 48 hr.s later. My total for the order was $19.68 shipping included. My charge for shipping was $2.68. This is what I call service! I live 2900 miles from Utmost Ent. and my hat's off to them. I thin

Is there anything to be gained from using mirco guides other than the obvious weight saved?

1st thing, did check before odering , did not order, am shopping elsewhere.Second, there are about three people in the whole building, also it does'nt cost $8.00 to send 4 grams of guides from them to me. By the way I dropped the book at the post office which is located 2oo yards from my best trout spot.

2299. shipping
Last week I sent a 6 oz. book on a 2500 mile journey at a cost of $2.53, I can mail a letter of up to 1 oz.. anywhere in the country for $.47. So why does it cost $8.00 for someone to send me a set of guides that weigh less than a 1/4 oz. 1000 miles? I don't mind paying for items but this almost doubles my order cost! No need to reply. Have a nice holiday.

Some threads seem to fade from the sun rather quickly. Are there any CP's or finishes that protect against this? Thanks to all who reply.

Ken, I have done this in the past using automotive heat shrink. I found that it holds much better if you do it with 2 layers of tubing one at a time. Lynn

2305. gps
When I run the gps for 27x with a spool dia. of 41.5 and shaft height of 81mm, I get a choke point of 1120.5mm. This seems to me to be about the only measurement in this system that is etched in stone and holds true for all the guide styles listed on the calculator except the KL-H series which moves the choke point back toward the reel by 8 inches. I'm planning to use KL25,KL16,KT10 reduction g
