Great post, Billy.

Let us also not forget that there are not that many suppliers willing to produce products for the rodbuilding community. Insulting them will only serve to eventually drive them away.

When any company takes the time to develop new products it raises the bar for everyone. This is a good thing for the rod building industry as a whole. And like Roger said if its not as good it won't be around long, but I doubt that Fuji would ever let that happen. I must say I am intrigued about this new thread and look forward to hearing how we all like it in the coming months.

It's hard to tell much on the website what the colors actually look like. Jim you mentioned its a good substitute for the Gudebrod are the colors exactly the same ?
Also what suppliers have it in stock ?

This is good news! I will have to try some.
From my other (work) life, I have a bit of experience with polyester versus nylon. Polyester has many benefits. In fact, just about every rod I wrap has polyester thread (Coats and Clark Trilobal polyester) and I like it much better than any nylon thread. Maybe the new Fuji will be the ultimate!

Tom: We were anticipating a late August arrival on our first shipment. The fact that it is here early is, I think, a very good thing considering that supply has been a big problem for some thread companies. On the other hand, it has left me scrambling to get all the information along with accurate colors up on our web site. A photo shoot for accurate color is at the top of my list (early next week). Design and launch of a new web tab on our site will take a few weeks but we are already working on it.

The colors are as close as we can get to some of Gudebrod's originals but it's a little early to tell if we've "nailed it"

Thanks to all for jumping to my defense. I try very hard to stay out of other peoples business (with occasional exceptions when absolutely necessary, lol) and provide some help wherever I can. To tell the truth, my involvement here started out as a solely commercial effort 4 years ago but as time has passed and I have worked with, talked with and had a drink (or two) with the Fuji engineers and designers I've come to a point where I hope I am contributing something technically (not decoratively...I still have no idea how to do a chevron wrap!) to the craft. I'm a novice by most standards and there are many here who have watched the component thing evolve from the very beginning and know far more than I will ever know. Still, I am privileged to have full access to a select group of folks who have had a great impact on the craft and I will continue to share what I learn from them.

Randolph, the comments were not meant for you. I stand with the others who say if you don't like the product don't buy it. It's a free country, at least so far. Yes, Tom it is a spool of thread, not world peace.
