I usually or my wife make my bags. I buy pajama flannel at a local fabric store (JoAnn's) when it's on sale. I use ribbon for ties. Dan Hogan

I put mine on with a spatula, as little as possible. Turn by hand SLOWLY, and wick iff excess from the bottom with a coffee fliter.

The best brush is a spatula. I watched Ralp O'Quinn's demo's twice and I'm convinced for guides and wraps I going to use a spatula.

This was my first show, and it was FANTASTIC! I'll be there next year. Unfortunately a current medical condition required I hit the sack as soon as the symptoms appeared, so I missed the after show gatherings. But I was the guy cruising the aisles and wearing out the carpet. Had a great time.

What I look for in blank company is consistancy. I want to be able to buy a quality blank at a fari price and get it repeatedly. Right now for me Batson does that.

I bought a chuck from Jann's (about $24.00). I wrap enough masking tape on the rod end to provide a good grip. I have turned cork and shaped EVE with this method.

Patrick: I have the standard motor, it works fine for cork, never tried it on wood. I use the Grizzley in the garage for turning cork now. Turning on the Renzetti in my Hobby Room(den?) created too much dust for my SO. I now use the Grizzley in the garage.

I bought a Renzettii about a year ago because I wanted the best available. Having said that I find that I seldom use the power feature. I have been rotating the rods by hand free of the chuck.??? The rods are mostly Fly and lite spinning. And I have a Grizzley Hobby Lathe I use for turning grips. Dan Hogan

I took a tip from Fly Tying. Break the thread by hand and see how much tension you can put on it. Then keep iy under that. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

Did you try rubbing with a rag dampened with acetone while rotating the rod? It worked for me, but it was a factory rod. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

I'm just an amatuer rod builder so...if: CP = Color preserver. and Finish = Epoxy, Varnish, Urethane, Perma-Gloss, etc. Where and how is a finish going to cement anything down with any strength? finish n: the final treatment or coating of a surface. Not sure what MARINE GOOP is, but unless it is an epoxy it won't get hard. It will be more like a vibration damper in the reel seat. That goes for Liquid Nails also. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

Just finished testing the "Easy Wrap Starting" technique in RMM 9-2. It works like a charm!!! But, how come I'm so dumb I couldn't figure that out for myself? Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

Tom: I have not recieved issue 9-2 as yet. And I have no doubt that it is probably a problem with my local USPS. Mail gets delivered to the wrong addresses...A lot. If I don't get it by issue 9-3 I'll oder a back issue. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.
