I have a Forecast Dryer Motor, it reverses rotation by turning the switch on and off. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

Technique may be it. I was having a heck of a time getting used to the CCW rotation of the Renzetti. All my previous experience has been on CW rotating machines. I tried Ken Preston's method also but the thread (A) locks and breaks when I pull it while truning. All my previous wrap locking was by the crossing over method. I'll keep plugging away. I have not wrapped my Renzetti for a couple of months. Now I am having problems starting and locking the wrap! It seems to be caused by the Reverse Tension Spring. Anyone had this problem? Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

I have my Hotel reservation and round trip tickets. Anyone going from So. Cal near Ontario Airport that wants to piggy back on the plane tickets? The Orbitz site claims you get a $220 savings for two tickets. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

I have been following this CP thread, and others. I am also not a long time rod builder. Before retiring I worked in the Airline Industry in aircraft maintance quality control, What I don't under stand is CP is "Color Preserver" nothing in the labels or information on the three brands that I have says it is a sealant and/or an adhesive. If all it does is protect the thread form the

Rather than spending money on Rod blanks. Take a look at the fiberglass extension handles sold by Home Depot or Lowe's. You shoulbe able to get several out of one handle, about $10.00 for about a ten footer. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

Expanding foam in the pressure can expands a tremdous amount. I used it to insulate a boat Ice Box. And it sets up fast. I can picture the possibilty of it fracturing the rod. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

So far of the three wrapper chucks I own, the chuck I got from Janns Netcraft and use on my Grizzley Hobby Lathe works the best and is easy to adjust. Next is the chuck on the dryer from Neal's, and then the chuck on the dryer from Flex Coat (with the hole in the rubber), which is limited in the size of the handle that will fit with ease. I have single foot guides on a spinning rod for 30# line used for ocean fishing. No probles with a 28 lb. fish. You have to watch what you read on some of the other internet web forums. There is a lot of personnal opinion bavcked by very little experience. Dan Hogan The only way to have a friend, is to be one.

I have been rodbuilding for just over a year. I recently bought a Renzetti rod lathe, but it had nothing to do with needing it. I used a home made wrapper built from Dale Clemens first book. Then as I worked with it I started modifying it to make it more comfortable to use. But tinkering with tools is not building rods. When the oportunity presented it self I bought the Renzetti. It is the fir

I have a drying motor from Flex Coat and one I got from Neal's Fishing Products. Neither has ever dropped a rod after turning overnight.

I played at being an artist at one time. Any fixative spray will work if it is dry. There are normally two kinds, acrylic and laquer. I have tried Krylon, Utrect (costs more), Grumbacher, Plasti-Cote. and Dull Cote (a plastic model laquer), and one I bought at Michael's all worked. The trick to home made labels is the right ink. Go to your printer Mfgs. site and check for the special inks to use

I use a Grizzley "Hobby Lathe", the one that runs on a drill motor. I had 3 drill motors but none would fit the lathe, so I had to buy their drill motor. I built a wheel rest so I could turn handles on the rod. Works OK. But! If you are going to make one again (or buy one) I would either copy or buy the Flex Coat model.

Ok thanks, Guys I'll try the Michaels near me, or artssupplyonline. I found Vellum at stationary stores but not with a graph. My el cheapo printer won't print out a long enough paper.

I wasted several hours yesterday and today trying to find vellum graph paper to make patterns with. No luck in local stationary stores and the Web. Graping programs on the Web don't make the graphs large enough to fit all the threads. What are you guys using?

I have a set I tried. To use them for finish you need to insure that you get a full and complete pump each time you load the mixing cup . This meant the first pump of the day for each pimp is usually a loss. I went back to using Doc Ski's method of measuring with Test Tubes.
