What is the benefit to putting epoxy over the under wrap and letting it dry first and then wrapping the guide over it,as I have met others that swear by this.

I have done this quite a bit and I like to use the Graphite Blank cut offs that I get from Lamiglass,as I live not to far from them or like Russel points out you might consider a caron/texilum tube for the extention part of the rod. You will want the extention to be as tight as possible with no movement or bend to it,but unlike Roger I would use Rod Bond,it does add more waight too it then Epoxy

Do your own test but mixing TM in a cup let it dry and then mix ProKote in the same cup on top of the TM and see for yourself mu personal choice is ProKote by a mile over all the rest but thats just my choice.
Try it yourself and see.

I have done my own test on both ProKote and TM and ProKote Wins hands down over TM The test was done simply by mixing the two and letting both dry at room temp and after 6 Months the ProKote that dried in a cup was still water clear but the TM that dried in a mixing cup is more of a milky clear nothing to cheer about. As for the remaining ProKote still in the bottle it is still clear as water and

Balancing a rod does not necessarily mean having a rod that sits level when one holds the rod as I will even add weight to the rod to Achieve the correct balance. The first thing you should do is mount the reel loaded with the correct line that you will be using with this rod to fish with, and after you have found the reel that you like simply lay the rod in your hand as in fishing it to see if it

233. Re: Epoxy gliter
Any glitter will work the smaller the better like Micro fine glitter is the best and you can fine it at most craft stores I find that a small amount works best and the colors Pearl green work best.

The biggest mistake a new rod builder can do is not leaning how to do a Static guide distribution test as this is the most important thing to learn and all new rod builders should learn how to do this before they even build a rod. I see this all the time with the new rod builders as they seem to think that they can just go to the Batson rods web-site and download a rod recipe and use it on there

Just like Spencer say everyone sees things differently as a rod made by Lamiglas for Flipping my have a slightly different line rating then the flipping rod made by Batson but they will both cover the exact same thing as it all comes down to the Manufacturer but basically the line rating does not come down to anything except what the the fisherman thinks is right and it is not that important at a
