Rubber butt cap glue. What do you guys use? Two part epoxy only stays put for a while for me. Rubber seems tough to get anything to really stick to. Re: Glue for Rubber

Make sure you prep the surface before using Rod Bond, or other epoxy. The gray scotch pads work but sometimes I have to resort to 220 grit sandpaper to break the smooth surface for rubber. It needs a water break-free surface to ensure good bonding.
If this is done, then epoxy works great and rod bond is a good choice. Terry Re: Glue for Rubber

Go to a craft/hobby store and buy a bottle of Liquid Fusion it will work and is also great for cork rings. I have used this since Trondak quit selling their Cork Bond. That was the best thing for cork ever made, but had toluene in it and all the uproar about acetone, ketone, and toluene prompted Ralph O'Quinn to take it off the market. Just because some people didn't like the smell. I used it for over 30 years with no adverse effects. I still use acetone and ketone as well as DNA for clean up, brush cleaning, etc. I have brushes for my finish that have been used for 35 years or more. They haven't been harmed either!! Just use Rod Bond and let it dry all night before any use it work and last much longer then any epoxy as most of us have all found out at sometime or another. Glenn McMurrian Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
