Hello Tom & John.
Now Tom, tolerance, just think if you go up on the roof you could make a mint re-selling the casting plugs.

Hello Jack.
It's not the supports that need to be level it's the rod blank, you need to make the rod blank level at the center-line, that may be part of your trouble.

Hello and WELCOME aboard Troy & Daughter.
The search feature is very useful just rember to change the date to ALL Dates(Tom is there a way you can get it to start at all dates?).
A lot of info in the Library and the Photo section, but for the Photo Section you need to register separetly from the regular forum.
If you see a term you do not understand the Glossary will help.

Hello Chris.
For that I would do like Fred said, wrap with white thread, epoxy, put on the decal and then another coat of epoxy(and as Bill said it may need cp, ask the mfr of the decal).

Hello Chris.
What do you mean by "PART" of the blank? For what purpose?
Most likely just tape it off and spray it with dupli color or Krylon or some other spray paint but I can't tell for sure without more info, you might need do use a tinted PG or even something else.

Hello Jim.
When I go pier fishing I generally jig using a "Got-Cha" plug with the tip down and an uplocking reel the threads on the reel seat dig into the web of my hand between the thumb and forefinger but the "SK2" LOOKS like it would not do that but I can't tell fore sure, I have bought a few of these seats but have not had enough time to REALLY look at them.
Have you

1301. Re: roller tip
Hello Tristan.
Col & Chris are both right, with Chris's post and a(if my math is right) 52.91 lb class rod if the tip is a 10/64th or smaller I would not use a size 12 tiptop but if it is 11/64th or larger I would go with Col's post and wrap it.
Thats my $.02 worth.
Big fish big pull=strong stuff or else! NO FISH. IMHO.

Hello Col.
Thanks Col it's a great honor to have any rods in RodMaker Magazine, Tom took the shot at the EXPO, I had a series of rods(most like the yellow one) that I brought for the display case that is up front at the EXPO every year and he liked those two.
The green one was built as a present to one of my nieces while the yellow one was part of the series.
I'm afraid I did not get a cha

Hello Gordon.
Col has talked me into doing some of the same tests on the more U.S. type "Rod" threads and since I have finely got the last of the tools and thread I intend to use for testing I hope to get started this weekend.
Col maybe we can come up with a single chart and if Tom thinks it's a good and usefull thing maybe he will put it in RodMaker or in the Library or both.

"A" thread is good enough, I like the old standby, "Gudebrod" but that is just a matter of choice all the rod building threads have thier places, metal for trims, nylon for guides, and your braids and such for bling(if I missed anything someone should chime in).
For drying I like anything from 9 to 18 RPM, again a matter of choice, like the thread try differ
