Hello All. I'm with Eric on this one, one of my first rods had a metal winding check that fit snugly, and one day out fishing I hooked into a dalphin (only about 5 lbs) and when he went scooting by the back of the boat I did not loosen my drag as usual and the rod broke right at the check.(still got the fish) Like Eric said "DO what you want I am just trying to help". Good Day

Hello Casey. I have a few blanks and have built a few but only built and fished one "SPSWB7H" it was my second build ever, 7', 20-40#, .765 butt, 8.5 tip, heavy rod caught a Tiger Shark about 250# with it while Hoo fishing with Ballyhoo or Halfbeak (depending where you are from). They seem to be good sturdy blanks. Tight Wraps.

Hello Brook. My bust I saw Jim's name in there and jumped right to SEEKER, I found them in the MH catalog. I noticed you can get the CB905 in white "CB905-W-Blend", I might have to break down and buy one to see, I just ordered two "FS904-W-MHX". Thanks for the info.

Hello Kevin. I've used white nylon with no CP and you can see through it but there is a bot of white haze or slightly milky (skim-1%) looking. If this comes up the white has no CP and you can see through it, it just looks a little milky.

Hello Casey. Are you going to the ICRBE this year? If you go you will be able to see and shake measure or whatever you want tons of blanks, every year I make a list of what I want to look at and what I want to buy and since I live in Bridgeton NC (4 hrs from EXPO) I save on the shipping and just carry it home in my truck, or on my truck (1pc 11-15' Surf Rods).

Hello Casey. You said you wanted a blank to mimic a Conolon but you never answered the questions I asked, so from what you did answer (10-25# line, 9', medium action, fast taper) the MHX although a very good blank the action and taper are both going to be different than the Conolon, but if you could give beter information as I asked earlier you could get a beter match. In short the more mat

Hello Casey. For the money: go for it, but it is not a Conolon. MHX are fine rods and as you say it should do a good job for you, but... Fish on, I'm outta here.

Hello All Good Luck to all up North. I'm in NC near the coast on a creek and got some high water but it was 4ft less than Irene. So it was not to bad for me, some on the beach lost everything and one section of the outer banks is cut off (the only road is gone in several places). Again Good Luck to ALL.

Hello Lorenzo. It's in RodMaker 14-1 pg.22. Basically it's a way of covering a rod or whatever with a pattern, kind of like a waterslide sticker but a little different. it can get more involved explaining it than doing it. There are a lot--lot of variables involved (size-shape-bla-bla-bla). John Timberlake did a seminar on it either last year or the year before last. Good Luck.

Hello Mark. I tried it once, and did not like it, nothing wrong with it but I deal mostly with big rods (30lb and up) and most big rod owners are not into that sort of thing plus it usualy takes 2 people to do a big rod unless you come up with a special set-up I used some PVC gutter drains with end caps on them with roller stands glued inside the drains laid the rod on the stands filled the wa
