I am about ready to build a 14 " handle from rings on a steel rod, as the rings will be tight on the iron rod, I was going to glue up about 2/3 of the handle, after the glue is dryed make sure it is moveable on the rod then build the rest of the handle on top of the frist section, that way I won't have to worry about the whole handle stuck, just the last section that was glued , I will b

where do I find the spaceing an type of guides on a center pin rod ?? or do I just use the spaceing of a SPEY rod an change the type of guides so the line dont slap the rod when casting , ????? Bill

it might not be the correct way but a 3, 2, 1 plus your tip will work out very nice, it has for me 3 = heavy , 2 = med., 1 = lightest , than a tippit, it is great for what you want, you can make all parts of the leader, so you take them apart an replace them om the river you just replace what broke off think about it

what ever you use it can be damaged, but the water pipe with the glued & screwed on caps is about as good as it gets , one word make sure it don't rattle in the tube an drill a............... """ very small""" hole in the tube so air can come an go [ 1/32" will do ] I have had the tubes split with out the hole, an some foam in both ends, will help g

yes some people can do it with out wax but not me, I want to error on the side of getting it a part, so I put wax on every thing, the threaded rod, the end pices and the washers for the end of cork rings, the metal rod the cork rings go on , [ put a layer of masking tape on rod befor the wax ] this way you can seperate the the rod out of the rings , better to be safe than sorry , after

looking at making a center pin rod , I think almost any SPEY rod blank will work, is that correct ? guide spaceing should be the same , the type of guides should lift the line off the blank more than the standard guides, the one big question is real seat an handle , the butt section about th same length, 6 " real set stubble 28 / 29 an the top section handle could be about 12 to 13 inche

if you use sewar/ water, pipe with screw on caps make sure you put in a small hole some where in it [ about 1/16 inch] for a little air to come an go, if you don't, it could split from Air Plane ride,

cheep: for temp use try kitchen clear rap, an heat ti with hair dryer, s cheep, will work not as heavy as the shrinh wrap but it works,

As I am new at this an have not had much experance, but what I have completedl comes out just fine , what I do is by drops from the bottle an it is great, an yes I know there is big drops an small ones I try to get the same size drops but it works for me , if the hole in the top of the bottle is close is the same size this helps a lot with the size of the drops Bill

I am trying to make a handle with some checkerboard rings that I have made, to get some color inthe ckeckerboard I have to use the real dark rings, when I sand the rings into shape my regular cork rings get discolored, I can clean them up a lot by washing in MEK but still very dark from the sanding , how do you get it back the light color ? or do I just have to live with it, or don't use t

if you any of the ideas above , do use a coating on all metal parts, bees wax works well, even on the masking tape, glue will not stick to the wax if no bees wax, stickey candle will work my2 cts
