Hi Folks,
Does anyone heat shrink wrap their finished handles? If so what do you use,and where do you get it? I located some tubing at Uline, but it only comes in quantities that would last me ten lifetimes. At my age one is more than enough. If you use it and have extra I would be happy to buy some. Or maybe one or more would be interested in sharing a minimum order which is 2 - 2"x750ft rolls @ &18 per roll = $36 plus $11 shipping. 200ft would last me forever. John,
You may want to call one of the building box stores such as Lowes, Home Depot, others. In the past I have picked up good quality heat shrink from an electrical shop. If you have an account with Merrick Tackle, they should have a selection on hand. As an alternative, I use 3M safety Grip. It is adhesive and comes in rolls of 1" by 60'. Apply similar to cork tape. It has much more texture than heat shrink. Don Becker Re: Heat Shrink Wrap

I imagine that John is speaking of using the heat shrink tubing as a shipping protection for the handle as opposed to something that will be used by the fisherman in daily use.

I order my heat shrink and tubing from Uline. The shipping cost is quite a bit. In regards to the heat shrink, a label indicated that shrinkage occurs when the temperature reaches 90 deg. F. I am storing my heat shrink in a refrigerator. Don Don Becker Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
