As Tom stated there are a lot out there , buy quality an it will last you a long time , if one was the best one out there every one would buy them , as you can see most of the guides have been around for a lot of years , buy name brands an there quality guides it will last a life time , as I see it ENJOY ,

Every one has there own way of doing it , my way is one size an a small file if need be, 2 sizes could be too sloppy for me , If no file , Fine sand paper an a wooden dowel ,an it works for me

Cork is an insulator will take a long time to heat where the epoxy is an warm it up so you can remove the butt. the fastest way is to R & R it , an move on no chance to burn the blank , PS the epoxy on the reel seat will also get hot , don't know if I would trust the epoxy in the reel seat after it has been heated up like that , to be safe R & R it an move on , { R&R is REMO

when I work on cork I like to sand it some how , not use drill bits , as the bits tend to rip the cork up way to much for me , sanding it can be a file , sand paper, even ruff sand paper will rip the cork for me , this happen because the cork is so soft .

If you line every thing up on the same axis as the chuck , you will stop the flex an will not walk out , need a metal rod to get the axis of the chuck ,

If I remember there is not much in the way of rod building going on in the state you might find some sport shops with a small supply of stock of what,you are looking for , most people go to the big supply stores to get supplies today , [ listed on the left here] , most are easy to work with an will give you what you want at a fair price ,
