Looks good I like the way winding checks look on split grips. Just tell your supplier where the reel seat is going the they will give you the right sizes you need if you cjoose to use them.

Some people like using it I choose not to so the finish soaks into the thread and incases the guide foot. CP stops the finish from making a good connectiont to the blank. Do a test on a peice of scrap using and not using it then remove the thread and guides. See for yourself wich way you want to go.

The brush is the way to go. I got mine from the craft section at wally world and use denatured alcohol to clean them. Bubbles are apart of it even if you get every bubble out before you apply there is air that is trapped in the thread and under the foot of the guide. A alcohol torch is a good thing to have for bubbles. I only need to put 1 coat of high build and I'm done with the guides. You have

I guess it's the blanks. My real seat is 1/2" furthrr up. The tip of my rod is 2.27 and the cumara is 2.02. The butt on mine is 14.50 the other 12.50. I have 10 american tackle micro's with matching top.

I have two rods in front me. The first rod is a shelf rod it's a Cumara 6' 10" mh. The other rod is one I just built a few weeks ago it's a 7' mh with micros. I built this rod as light as possible and it is. When I weighed the two rods I was glad to see my rod weighs slightly less yet the Cumara feels alot lighter then mine. I'm thinking the Cumara is weighted in the butt cap but I`m not sur

What size and style guides would you use to make the transition to micros on the bottom? What micros do you use on your builds and why? I haven't seen all the brands so I'm not realy sure what makes one better then the other if they both have the same ring.

I have some spools of the co or fast pro wrap. I've noticed that when I let slack in it to cut n make my pull threw it twists up which causes the thread itself to unravle. Maybe you can tell me whats goinwrong.

Then why haave forum lets just have one big search site. The reason for a forum is to discuss ideas n thoughts of the present noot the past. Not long ago micros was nothing now many builders use them every day. I get were Chris is coming from I just start building less than 3 years ago. Bill whats your thoughts on spiral wraps. How does your customers like the ones you have built. I'm plann

I'm with Chris when I post a question it's nice to get a answer not a point in the general direction. I want to hear different opinions not hours of pointless reading. I don't have the time to go thrw every post about a subject. Someone who has more step by step questions on here in the past few months shouldnt be talking about baby sitting. jmho...

It doesn't matter if the line goes under the blank. Go search it. Why use micros if your using 15 micros. Try setting it up standard do some test cast then go from there.

I get my thread wrapped half way up the foot then align the guide there might be a very small adjustment after. Roger said a half a turn and theres no way my guides will move that much. What failures can happen?

Why would you have loose thread that just leaves more room for the guides to work loose. On single foot itll pull out easier. I dont follow the thought process here.I'm not sure about the double foot i usesingle with locking wraps so I have to put them in the correct place.

The only problem I noticed with the net is that when you ask a question alot of people respond with conflicting answers so how does one decide on what is the best route to take for that particular issue? That is what I learned this weekend with my 1 on 1 is that I got to see everything first hand and that is priceless. I have to say that I'm extremely lucky to live with in driving distance of 1 o

23. decals
So I found out the hard way PG does not work with decals. I put a decal om from mudhole and added PG over the top without CP. The decal started to disapear like a majic trick. The sad part is I needed to finish this rod by the end of the week and I don't do my own decals yet. What is the trick to thesde decals I hate them they don't come out perfect like I want them to. How do I make them like it

I use a rod dryer to aply my finish on my guides and wraps. When I get to the top of the guide I would like to stop the rotation for a second to make sure I get epoxy in the tunel. What I'm looking for is a pedal that breaks the current so that when I step on it it stops so I can do what I have to. Unless there is another solution to my problem that can make my life a little easier. It just seems

In truth what time does it take a computer to know when a product is sold. Everything is ran by cpu's so it's a matter of a half a second or so. It wouldn't stop it completely but it make a huge difference.

After a couple of years of rod building I'm finally doing a wrap. I wrapped my guides with no cp but with my wrap I need a cp like product to hold the thread in place . I don't want to use cp because I want the colors to match the guides. What would you recomend I use in place of cp that will allow my thread to darken?
