I'm looking to build the ultimate bass rod for flipping and pitching jig's and plastics. I want a 7' medium heavy with a fast action tip. The rod needs to hold 17# line with a lure weight 1/4-3/4. I'm green when it comes to cross wraps but very stuborn and determined. I realy like the scales pattern so I figure I'd try it. I can get the pattern but I'm not understanding the whole axis issue. I know what the axis is basically but I can't figure out the way to do multiple ones. If some one could point me in the right direction I'd apreciate it.

On a tiger wrap what colors make the wrap for example if I wanted to go purple and gold were should those colors go on the wraps?

I just built my first rod last week and it came out realy well. All I did was order a rod kit from mud hole to start out with. I have been reading as much as I can and looking at alot of pictures to try to learn. The problem I'm having is on my weaves and wraps after I finished then off they came out realy dark.
