sure do. i believe they were in sloatsburg, new york. they shut down around 1998/99, they put out a small catalog with saltwater tackle and rod building components. seems like i got a catalog just recently from someone in ny that made me think of them. catalog was same style as the old midland- like newspaper.

i have used several helps for wrapping guides and need them all! tie wraps, rubber bands, twist ties, sliced latex tubing, etc. one thing i have used that has helped has been sliced pieces of ear plug materials. it will create tension, moves fairly easy for adjustment, and slices/tears off readily. just one more way.

i am very happy to be 96 miles, 1 hour and 39 minutes away from high point! i have been twice to the expo and have came away both times feeling delighted. i am ,how shall i put this, TIGHT with a dollar(i am even TIGHT with a penny!) but my mindset at the expo's is that i go in with an attitude that i AM going to spend the bucks here today, right now, for what i want. it is a bad economics to not

for a start, you needn't try tp go with any nylon thread. it is passe'. irish linen is the accepted thread and really it is the only preferred wrap material as far as thread goes. leather is a step up. we pool players are pretty much (how can i not use the word anal) particular about our cues. i have used a nylon "d" thread years ago for a pool room owner, he just wanted a cheap wrap t

i have used rubber bands, masking tape, surgical tubing, slices of foam ear plugs, and even bread wrapper ties. i always do file or grind the ends of guides to allow the thread to climb onto the foot easier.

i had some soft foam earplugs(HOWARD LEIGHT brand). i cut a slab from one with scissors poked a SMALL hole in it and ran it down the blank. it has worked well so far- haven't gotten down to the tip of the rod yet for the smaller guides. the foam will give and move but keeps the guide roughly where i want it to be.

what a great deal! i love it! wish i had some instructions for it but it is all good! i like the foot pedal/speed control. i did find i really needed to slow WAY down when the thread is starting up the guide foot. I sure like this thing!

in the late 70's and 80's coren's rod and reel service in chicago had them listed in their fliers. pretty light wire guides, supposedly lightest available at that time. you could start there. i thought i was the only person alive that remembered that archaic bit of info! never did get to try any of them. good luck with your search.
