keep your head up! I am trying to recall the number of times I did everything right on a rod. hmm. apparently I have never ever did everything right. LET ALONE a PERFECT rod. I have had to ruin a a great NOS Rodon fly reel seat because I misaligned it. actually I forgot to align it at all. noticed the reel sat at a jaunty twist from the guide train! heat gun and pliers got it off. ruined it. hap

one option is to search on an @#$%& site, from all the sponsors I asked it is a no go response. they are pretty much gone in the retail world as far as I can tell. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

IF the two guides are IDENTICAL you may get away with it. how it got popped out may affect longevity of repair.

the five star conolons were the best of the time(from garcia conolon). 4 star were slightly less impressive, three and two star likewise being slightly less prestigious. some blanks were shared throughout a lineup for all x-star ratings. guides, finish, thread wrap, handle/fitting changed to met the specs. i believe conolon, prior to garcia's acquisition, did not use the star ratings.

I could see an inlaid auto/team emblem. maybe a small nine ball or even a small inlaid cue-yep I like pool! may do an inlay in butt cap also..the little coclorful hat p[ins may go well. hey you could put a bit of irish linen wrap/leather fore and aft of reel;/seat. that diameter tube should fit well with rear of 16, 17, 18 mm casting seats. I know some diameters match well. post pics when you g

I built some fenwick rods in the mid/late 70's on the yellow blanks. I built one brown fenwick in the very late 70's. this time frame is correct 'cause I got married in 1980 and everything changed! probably got blanks/components through Dale Clemens, maybe Jackie Dickerson's fish'n shack as well.

I saw three repro handles in a matagi catalog recently(this years). seemed like one was german silver(just to add to the allure!). I am looking to get myself a good close quarters rod ready for a certain unnamed headwaters locally. I can get a small boat in there and even throw/flail a flyrod about but honestly a 7'casting or spinning rod is just a bit unwieldy. close quarters small waters; just

if I were that close to orlando, i would HAVE to go to Get Bit Outdoors and MIUDHOLE to check the blanks in person. i figure they could probably help with some advice as well.

cabela's sold the garcia brown 2510 in their 1966 catalog for $11.75. i think the A suffix may mean a ferrule or a guide change for a subsequent model. the listing reads like this: two-pice tubular fiberglass shaft. hard chromed, stainless steel guides and tip top. rich brown winding with beige trim. specie cork handle with anodized aluminumn screw-locking reel seat. protective butt cap and windi
