another way to keep guides in place

i had some soft foam earplugs(HOWARD LEIGHT brand). i cut a slab from one with scissors poked a SMALL hole in it and ran it down the blank. it has worked well so far- haven't gotten down to the tip of the rod yet for the smaller guides. the foam will give and move but keeps the guide roughly where i want it to be.

Check out the photo page. There is a way to hold them with rubber bands.

I use just regular old hot glue sticks. Heat up the foot, wipe it accross the stick and place. Even if you need to adjust the guide after its wrapped it seems to let me do it thus far.

Hi,

I use the surgical tubing that comes in different sizes and colors. I cut the tubing into rings of about an eight inch, then slide them down the blank. I purchase these bags of tubing from a tackle shop or distributor.
