i just finished a spinning rod with a blank(loomis gl3 sj783) from the expo(better late than never). i used permagloss and did guides and buttwrap with it. guide wraps came out fine except for darkening due to not using cp. buttwrap did show bubbles because i hurried in order to get heavier coverage/buildup. rods does look good overall and fishes great!

i am not a cuebuilder but do happen to know some and i have wrapped a few. when wrapping a cue, you need to put a layer of elmer's glue/ white glue in the wrap groove. i would say stay away from epoxy or any long lasting / permanent type of adhesive. the elmers is very sufficient. put a thin layer all over the groove then do the wrap. some builders start the wrap like rodbuilders and others pref

i am trying to think(i am a truckdriver-just back from a 13 hour trip- a bit sleepy! lol) if i have any rods i won't use; frankly there are two: both in MINT condition ;an Abu Garcia 2133-A spinning rod( with inspector# 85's sticker) and a Shakespeare Spring Brook fly rod in original shipping box from 1941. i will baby them by not taking them on my little pontoon boat. i will use every other one
