Got a customer who is looking for an 8'6" fly blank in 6wt. I've browsed all catalogs and websites and can only find 8'6" blanks in 5wt. Seems like 6wt start at 9' in length. Is there one out there I am missing? Can a 7wt - 9 footer be trimmed? or can a 5wt - 9 footer be trimmed? Any suggestions?

Looking at using these guides on a build. On the Mudhole website, they list a size 30J and 40J, but they also list a 30JL and a 40JL. What is the difference between the J and the JL?

Thanks guys....I spoke to Billy about those Seeker blanks, and like he mentioned, the color choices (red and green) are not going to work. They look like true workhorses and in the pics of Billy testing them, I'm wondering if he superglued his feet to the stoop! I've talked to Kevin about blanks and some other stuff, so maybe he'll chime in on the guide height concern. Wes....I suggested to

First of all, thanks for all the replis in the thread below. Lots of options (as usual) for blank selection. Did some more question asking with the guy, and the current rod he is using is a Quantum Cabo CBIS80ML Rod (not produced any longer). This rod is rated for 4-6lb test and 1/16-1/2oz. He fishes with 10lb braid, wants backbone, and a "soft" tip for bonefishing. In my re

I'll throw a curve ball in here as well.......The current rod the guy likes has a 4lb-6lb line class rating on it, and he is fishing 10lb braid. Any further recommendations, or stick to what is already listed above?

This was question was posted elsewhere (different forum), but never got a firm response, and it got my curiosity going. What does the "L" or "J" mean after a guide size? For instance, on a FUJI guide BYAG, it says the guides are "J" sizes and lists a size 8 guide as both an "L" and a "JL"?? What does this mean? Thanks

Alright...so this fella gives me a Shimano TLD25 to repair and I fix it. The reel is attached to a Sea Striker Billfisher Rod. I notice that the reel seat is very loose, and spins from side to side on the blank. The rod has Sea Striker/Star's version of a slick butt. Not sure what kind of material it is(but i kinda like it), but my question is this: Can the original butt be cut/pried/removed f

Got a request for an 8ft Bonefish Spinning rod with "medium-light" action. Titanium guides. Not sure yet of what lb. test. Any blank recommendations for starter would be great. Seems like there are plenty of 7'6" blanks, but not many 8 footers. Recommendations?

I've rooted around on the sponsors on the left and have come up empty handed. Does anyone carry the BLACK aluminum ALPS winding checks that have the rivet/dimples on them? Also looking for the same in silver, but was hoping to kill two winding checks with 1 order to minimize shipping. Thanks in advance.
