This was question was posted elsewhere (different forum), but never got a firm response, and it got my curiosity going. What does the "L" or "J" mean after a guide size?
For instance, on a FUJI guide BYAG, it says the guides are "J" sizes and lists a size 8 guide as both an "L" and a "JL"?? What does this mean? Thanks Re: Guide Size letter meanings

The J is there for all of them. The L stands for low frame, meaning a 8JL has an overall lower height than an 8J. Re: Guide Size letter meanings

Click on the Angler's Resource link in the sponsors list. Then follow the link to their catalog. On page 63, you will find the naming convention for their guides.
Hope this helps. Joe Re: Guide Size letter meanings
