Kerry ....... I would love to see an article concerning the finer points of using this loom ......... from the few articles and postings on several boards, there are some incredible weaves that have been done with this loom and competitions won by the few that learn how to use it. It seems that the tips and the techniques have been closely held and some have been buried with the weavers that u

I just got from the Expo ........ Bill Stevens from Swampland Rods had some rods made up with micro's and a reel and I was amazed at the casting distance. The rod I test cast was a 7 ft with all 3.5 micro giudes on top and it cast very far on freespool and no thumbing with no backlash ........... he also got great distance pitching ......... definitely made me a believer .

Around here it is customary to share the costs. While everyone that I know can afford the costs, it is felt that it's just not fair for the Capt. to burden all of the expenses. However, it's up to the Capt. to accept or reject the offer. I have never taken a penny from the guys fishing with me unless the person was VERY adamant about paying his way. In that case, I felt it was more gracious

I use Masking at each end of the reelseat. Then I wrap between the masking tape ends with the wall mesh tape. All tape is wrapped for a snug but not tight reelseat fit. The masking tape acts as a dam to keep epoxy from running and giving a better more even bond. I use a couple of glue gun spots to hold the mesh to the rod. After wrapping the mesh, I liberally work D2T into the mesh and on the m

I think they both seal ........ Tru Oil is basically used to clean the stocks of guns . Some rodbuilders use it on cork handles. I've used both. They both work well. THey both darken the cork too but tru oil seem to give a darker sheen but it also highlights the different shades and any pits giving it a classic look in my opinion ........

I know I don't have the experience of most guys here but I'm really curious. Why do you apply finish at 100 rpm's? I usually apply by either hand turning a 1/4 at a time or using a 10 rpm dryer motor?
