Toys For Tots

I'm building a rod to be raffled at a bass TX being put on by one of the local bass clubs and the USMC benefitting Toys for Tots. I'd like to thank the good folks at Swampland Tackle, Bingham Enterprises, and Decal Connection for their contribution of components for this build. They all did so without hesitation and gave even more than was asked of them. I think together we will make for a few smiles on Christmas morning that may not have happened otherwise.

And thanks for donating the labor Chris. You tied all that together. Hope it makes them a lot of money.

We're doing something unique here for TTT. One of our guys came up and is organizing a no entry fee tournament. Guaranteed first place $2500 (sponsors donating prize money and further donations) and more payouts from there. Each angler will be required to bring 2 $10 toys to participate. Pretty unique idea (at least around here). We expect a good turn out.

This is just another example of wat I spoke about a few days ago. The good deeds that are continually being done by rod builders around this great country.

Great job Chris ........... and thanks for the idea.........
We have an organization called Wish A Fish .......... It's local around the Chesapeake bay area . We take disabled kids and their families out for a day of fishing and food and entertainment. Caring for disabled kids is both expensive and totally draining on the families of these kids. We basically give the families a very fun day off to recharge their batteries ........ it's catered, 30 - 50 boats with full crews and each family even gets an 8x12 framed photo of their family and their catch ............

I'm going to make a matched set fior light tackle lure striper fishing here for next years raffle

Chris I did the same thing for an organization I belong to ( Chehalis Basin Fisheries Task Force ). We raffled off 2 of my custom rods. The raffle money goes to high schools that have rod building classes in conjunction with their FFA school program. This way they are able to buy needed supplies. The guys at Batson are running a fantastic school program. What the boys and girls learn from this program is a fantastic knowledge. From math to patients. Also pride in building a rod that can be fished and also show the world what they have done. This in its self builds self confidence. I have been in contact with a student from Eastern Washington, who is taking the class. From what he has learned. He now operates a small repair rod shop and builds a few rods to sell at from his home. The young man took the class for fun and now does not have to pound the streets trying to find work, the work comes to him. Keep up the good work Chris.
Good Wraps Bob
