Hello Ben.
I have a Phenix Elixir FX601-1-B and they are what they say they are 6' 1-6#, 1/32-1/4oz., Fast, butt .299, tip 4, blank wt. .56.
I use this rod for catching bait for large saltwater fish, and hooked into a 3# shark in 40ft. of water and spent about 15-20 min. bringing him in.
Just before catching that shark I was using a size 6 Sabiki Rig (the same one) catching silver sided sard

Hello Chester.
MudHole has CRB blanks, IM6, lots of different colors and weight ranges; though all are Fast Action (Except the CRB E-Glass; (Larger) rods).
However ALL at a good price.
You can find one that will work for just about any kid big enough to work a 5'6" rod.
You are going to love it.

Hello Pete
If you want to bring them in (Drag Them By Their Lips) Calstar "E" glass- Regulation Series.
RT12-B 5'6" long, .645 butt, 10 tip, 12# line wt, the Action is listed as "I.G.F.A." Which makes it a pretty slow to medium blank.
If you want some finesse try a Matrix "Spin Jig".

Are we talking Spin, Cast, Lob, or Fly?
Randolph seems to have it right to me, but I am not sure of the context.

Hello Chuck
If you want the best looking way(But NOT the Easy way) Weaving the letters is it for me, but as I said it takes work.
If you know about Weaving you can find a left list in "Custom Rod Builders Guild How To Library" under "Lucida Handwriting True Type Font" By "Mike Kosiba"
Then there is getting a sticker made by any number of places, even MudHole doe

Hello All.
What I was thinking was a raised(3" or so) laser on the reel seat pointing down toward the tip.(Hard to explain)
Now I am using a "Black & Decker; BDL200S Laser Level" just sitting on the reel seat and it is not that great because it moves around, but if I get it too stay still it is then useful as it has two level tubes(one vertical, one horizontal).

Hello Bill.
They are not exactly the same, just break open that change purse of yours and by an 8" sample from both places, even you can afford that (they are both under $7.00 each).
They are both nylon but I don't know what the density is on them, the same on both or different on each.
Take it easy Bill.

1160. Re: loose reel seat
Hello Kenny.
You could squeeze a needle between the seat and cork and inject some epoxy into the seat, or drill (carefully) a hole in the seat (somewhere where it won't be seen with the reel on) and fill with epoxy.

Hello Steve
Looks like a 200 X 200 thread weave, and if it is you need to talk to Jim Upton, he is the weaving "guru".
You may find it in PC Stich, I believe it is called.

Hello All.
The question is "Most Valuable INNOVATION", innovation in the dictionary is "The act of innovating" which is "To start or introduce something new : be creative".(Webster's II page 630).
You can't say "rod building technology" without centering on a specific part of "rod building technology" because "rod building technology"

Hello All.
I have to agree with Randalph, it's the rodbuilders themselves, in the form of innovation.
No people no innovation.

1167. Re: guides coming loose
Hello Chester.
An "Underbinding" is what it sounds like, a binding (or Wrap) put on the rod before you put the guide on, some people will epoxy the under binding (or Wrap) before putting the guide on and some will not.
Under bindings (or Under Wraps) are used Mostly on heavy rods, although some people will use them on all rods.
Hope that helped, take care & tight wraps.

Hello Marco.
In my opinion I would think that a solid anything especially something as stiff as carbon would be asking for a break.
Others will chime in on this, Tom is on top of this kind of thing and undoubtedly will give you a better answer if he sees this post, or maybe Gary Loomis.
Have a good day!
