Hello Sanford. I use an old Shamano 3500 Bait Feeder (don't know if they still make the 3500), two reels in one live lining, trolling, ballooning, bottom fishing and more than I can think of. Tight Wraps.

Hello All. I'm with Roger on this you can use the saw for a lot of things around the house and cuts straight without even having to mark, tape, cut and sand, I just mark and cut. For $28.00 it's a good investment in tooling, however if you cannot afford the mini chop saw do it Bill's way. Tight Wraps.

Hello Andi. All the guide rings built these day's are fine for most any kind or size of line, if you are talking frames what you need to consider is the amount of abuse they will be subject too, I find that most 50# and up seem to endure a greater amount of abuse so I always use double foot guides. Tight Wraps.

Hello Ron. I stop using single foot guides at 30#, there some who have told me that they have used sf's on 50# and got away with it, but with my luck they would fold like a cheep kite in a hurricane so I won't go over 30# on sf's. Good Luck. Tight Wraps.

Hello Andi. I have built a many blanks from MudHole, I have built on the SPSWB7M & H models and I have built on the IS models Tom took some pictures of two of mine and put them in RodMaker Magazine Volume 15 / Number-3 page 20. They were IS701L-Yellow, and IS701L-Lime. You will find that they are good blanks the IS's are IM6, the SPSW'S are E-Glass, and the ISP's are made by Lamiglas,

Hello Chester. The numerical information listed above by me was gleaned from 2 articles written by Emory Harry & Jack Hurt (pg. 7 table 2) and printed in RM Magazine part 1 in V6-I6, part 2 in V7-I1. However I have taken a second look at the material I have and found a data sheet from HexTow that someone posted a link on this forum (and I can't find again) that lists: (1). Fiber Type

Hello Glenn. If I recall rightly the RX6 & RX7 are the same as IM6 & IM7 and if so the difference is in the Tensile Strength, IM6= 760, IM7=780Thousands of PSI, both have 40 millions Modulus of Elasticity. If I am WRONG someone will set me straight(I'm just starting to get interested in the different aspects of blank manufacturing. The 7 would be a little stronger for the same ma

Hello Arthur. I built some 9'ers with the larger #30 castaway guides and they worked great, I did not want to use a #20 butt guide with a 9000 reel plus I used Titanium for the rest of the guides because of the Salt Water. I use the Micro Wave guides on 7' all the time now in fresh and no large reel, I don't see why an 8'er would be a problem(a lot of musky guy's use them). Tight Wraps

Hello James. The only "All Metallic" thread that is truly metal, MudHole has (pg. 205) "Ultra Wire" which is a non-tarnishing copper wire (in many colors) used mostly for fly tying. Just think of the amount of weight you can add to your rod. Be Safe.

Hello Keith. It depends on what you will be using the rod for, Ocean Jigging I like a 12" grip, if I am using it for inshore (Smaller Fish) or bass fishing I use either a short or no fore grip. Tight Wraps.

Mike was sitting in the lobby with a half dozen people sitting around and another half dozen standing around and he was explaining some technique or another, and was asking people how they did the same thing, and why they did it that way and everyone was putting in their $.02 and a lot of the time he would take what everyone said and add it to his knowledge after awhile the conversation would sta

Hello Andi. I have done many rods like that, but you need to put the tape on straight and smooth, if the edge is not straight and level it can be difficult. If you pull the tape off and the epoxy has gotten under the tape, take a hand towel dipped in either Isopropyl or Denatured Alcohol and spin the rod on the lathe holding the edge of the towel against the rod to get a straight epoxy line
