1111. Re: replacement blank
Hello Andi.
MHX has a 1pc. F908-1-MHX: 9', 8wt., Fast Action, 4.5 Tip, .480 Butt, Blank wt. 1.9oz., $116.50, but they do not list a color on the page.
I THINK (if I'm wrong someone tell me) that MHX's are not coated and are clean graphite, which is a gray color.

Hello Mike.
I'm with Russ 100% if you do decide to build many questions need to be answered, and to get them answered you need to provide as much information as you can, usually the more info you put into a question the more accurate the answer can be.

1114. Re: Preview of color
Hello Chris.
Wrapping an old blank does no good unless the blank you wrap is very close to the same color as the one you want to know about because the blank color comes through some to a lot depending on color of thread, and how well you pack.
I do use the DNA procedure.

1115. Re: Tip top tube too big
Hello Alan.
Yes you can do either, but the thread is best and should be all you need if you can get more than one or two wraps with tape you will have a problem with your tip(centering, water proofing and gap disguise).
Good Day.

Hello Mel.
Are you tied down so you won't get pulled in, I have seen a couple of guy's that thought they fish 50# drag with 120-150#(don't remember which) line.
Both of them only weighed between 175-180# and both went swimming and were lucky enough to get the rod loose from the harness before they drowned (it was close).

Hello Mitch.
They are mostly used as trim because of their weight (kind of heavy) but a few people like them enough to not care about the weight.

Hello Greg.
I don't know about the tiger series but there are some SS chrome plated model XBG or XBBG(Braced).
MudHole sells these, I don't know if they are the same ones you are looking for.

Hello James
This site has a very good search function and a search of "buy ink jet waterslide decal paper" will get a lot of info if you don't forget to hit the "all dates" button.
Good luck.

Hello Bill.
For Big Stuff I use the Perfection Machined Aluminum Reel Seats (you can get a matching regular, ball, or swivel ball gimbal) or I will go with the big boy's (Aftco, American Tackle, Stuart, or Alutecnos)
If you want something for small tuna(10-40#) a Pac Bay channel lock 17 or 20mm I.D. SLIM (light) aluminum with nylon cushioned hoods.
Good Luck.

1126. Re: Tuna blank
Hello Bill.
I've never held one but those are the spec's listed in the book, it did seem a bit light to me but that is what it says(if you don't believe the numbers call MudHole and ask for clarification), and this is not glass but graphite.
Solid glass 7'6"-8' has got to be very heavy.
Billy has a good bunch of composite blanks but 7'6" - 8' in a 80lb + is a tough find in some

Hello James.
ModHole has 3 under $50.00.
TCRW for $16.95 (Table Clamp Rod Wrapper).
CRBHW for $34.95 (MudHole Custom Builder Hand Wrapper).
EW1 for $41.61 (Traveler Rod Wrapper).
For a young starter the EW1 would be good if you build a support (supports are not that hard to build, a piece of felt a little glue, 2 pieces of wood and 2 screws) for it, or if you can't do that get a H

1129. Re: Need help with Rod
Hello Fernando.
More info is better, but from what you have given and the "just a little backbone" (I assume for rock) I would give a Seeker SP702-1 or SP703-1 a try.
702= 7', 2-8# w/4# sweet spot, 1/8-3/8oz. lure wt., 6-tip, .430 butt.
703= 7', 4-10# w/6# sweet spot, 1/4-5/8oz. lure wt., 5.5 tip, .680 butt (there is your extra backbone).

Hello All.
I'm with you Russell, put 80# or even 50# on a big shark & he will pull you and your Kayak under for lunch!!!
15-30# is the most I would go if you could squeeeezzeee me into a kayak.
Go easy on the fries we don't like our sharks to get to fat.

But as I have said before I DONT have AMTEK MicroWave guides, I Have CASTAWAY (30-8) MicroWave Guides, and the blanks are 9 feet long not 6.5.
Thanks anyway tight wraps.

Hello John.
Thanks but the Amtac set up is for rods no longer than 7'6', mine are 9'.
If (if) I recall right from reading old threads the Castaway Microwave Guide goes around 20" from the real face but I am not sure of that nor where the second guide goes the rest I think can be found with static test (I think).
All I really have is a bunch of conjecture.
Thanks Again.
