Build two of the blanks Karry suggested so the little lady can go too.

I have a spacing for a earlier but similar blank if it would help.

No need to double wrap guides, size A alone is plenty strong enough. I don't recommend anymore epoxy that necessary to get a nice finish and protect the threads from weather/water intrusion. The epoxy doesn't structurally improve anything on the rod, it's simply a finish.

Another blank to consider is the C70LXF Graphite USA. Very light tip, backbone where you need it. I use mine for shrimp and gold spoons for specks and reds.

Sulky makes a blue metallic thread that is very close to the C-4 color. I use white NCP thread for my trim, but dark gold/silver would also work to follow the reel's color scheme.

Or you could use the contact site at Lamiglas, they have been real good at getting back to me. Angler's Workshop is only a few feet from the Lamiglas factory.

Jon, It makes no difference. The important thing is to get that bull's eye picture when your done.

I once prepped and installed 2 nuts to a scrap blank to test the bond. The next weekend we put the blank in a vise and used a torque wrench to test the bonds, the blank failed at around 30 ft lbs.

Rogue also makes a nice blank with an X-Fast tip if he likes them. P705-2, same ratings as above rods. If you've used a All Star Top's and Tails, St Croix 3C68MXF or Rainshadow ISB822.5 it's similar.

Tim, I've had this happen a time or two, I wrapped thread on the blank in the colors used on the wraps and than put on finish than reamed the reelseat carefully to the new size. I've had some positive comments on my mistakes using this save.

No guide can be damaged by braid in itself. If the braid starts picking up sand, etc. than that's the problem. I have rods that have had braid on them since they first came out with the stuff with zero problems.

I'd go with the 8s as I use a braided wire leader when I'm around toothy critters like muskies and pike.

Patrick, All heavy sink tips will do what you're experiencing. The Teeny TT400 is notorious for this, the tip hits the water and the floating portion lands 24 ft further. The Teeny 300 and his new variable density lines help there.

Alex, Your being to general. In the format you just gave us the blanks are similar. GLX when it first came out in the early 90s was a great series of blanks. The others have has all this time to catch up and learn some new things on their own. The high end/modulus blanks have their place, but only under certain conditions like all things in fishing. I wouldn't restrain myself to any one brand o

Like Tim said, you have to have a reel so why not incorporate it into the balancing system by putting it behind your hand as you grip the rod for the drift. Counterweighting a rod adds no weight.

PSJ, ISJ, SJ601 or 602 depending on lure weight needed.

One thing that make cork so great as a grip material is that it is relatively impervious to water and other liguids. Nothing sinks in, you just get a surface change that is easily damaged with use. The burl that I think carries the most color is red, followed by green and I really don't see much blue in the blue burl. In the burls it's the binder that carries the color. The best looking stuff is

Harold, Check out the info at the CC Data site to the upper left. The FT is not a med fast blank, it's a very "fast taper" blank. I use the FT and similar blanks like the Sage TCR when I am nymphing or throwiing sink tips more than a floating line, not that you can't do it. My Loomis GLX and the Sig V just do it more enjoyably for me, they also make up into a lighter weight rod.

John, Like many other of our sponsors, they spend a lot of time trying to keep similar actions between the series. There are however small differences and a difference in blank weight. The 5C I tried was a little faster and considerably lighter and livelier than the 3C, you could tell the difference with your eyes closed.

Things change all the time in this business, but Sage used to use Struble reelseats and cork, and Hopkins & Holloway guides.

The standards also have a frosted finish and the deluxe a shiny finish. Like Kyle said they are just prettier, I don't think they work any better.

I'm with the others here an X-fast tip doesn't stop me from using treble hooks, especially when the blank doesn't have mag bass backbone like this blank does not. Salmon/steelhead anglers have been using X-fast tipped rods for plugs for many many years, in fact it is a design criteria for hot shot blanks.

You can also get pink in the CTS blanks if you need a lighter performance blank. I've seen a pink Lamiglas steeelhead blank and fire engine red surf blanks at the factory too.

Little river, low water flows, browns and cutbows, 8 to 15 inches with an occasional bigger one during the spawn.
