red river blank suggestion

i have a request for a spinning rod to fish for trout on the red river in new mexico. i have a few ideas, but i thought i would post and get a few suggestions. i have never been there and dont know the fishery. the rod is a gift and i cant ask the fisherman. Re: red river blank suggestion

Little river, low water flows, browns and cutbows, 8 to 15 inches with an occasional bigger one during the spawn. Re: red river blank suggestion

Yep. The sections I used to fish were in the upper reaches around Red River, NM, and its a small river. Lots of fun, some stretches with overhanging trees and brush, but plenty of open stretches of water. Beautiful country. Joe Douglas Re: red river blank suggestion

It sounds like he should build a light wt spining rod 4 to 6lbs. around 6 to 7ft in length.
