Take in concederation the reel seats should be the same and center bored correctly. Doesn't take much variance at the seat to make a big difference at the intersection of the blank.

Roger I sacrificed a 3 iron (which i couldnt hit) after removing the grip i cut the shaft in small lengths at each step. I ended up with alot of pieces from small to large diameter. I then put a bolt and flat washer into one end ( to keep from distorting ) and whack the material with a hammer. On eva you can twist it right through a piece a 1/2 inch thick real easily with your hand. I didnt us

I have a friend that tried that on a few of my preformed cork handles, it took some adjusting to get the laser right. After burning some up he did get it dialed in right and it looked ok, he just puts his name on his own handles now. But he can do it on the assembled and finished rod. I havent been to his buisness to watch him do it, I guess I should check it out.

Alex, Very nice looking website. You should be very busy if your pricing stays as posted. Hope you make enough to cover the cost of the website. They can get pricey. I like the about me page where it gives access to your customers your credibility thru your other buisness and @#$%& sales. Wish you all the luck with the website. Mike

The ISB 822.5 is as good as it gets for the price. I have built many of these in the RX7 and recieved alot of positive comments, I have 2 myself and there among my favorites, maybe because I would rather catch em dropshoting than topwater. Very light and crisp with a good tip. Also picked up Lamiglas at the rod expo that was highly recomended by an avid angler and rodbuilder its a LSJ 862 in the

Im doing mine like Scott also. I refurbish a lot of 1 piece cork bass rods to split gripsAfter pulling the cork off I scrape with a small brakeoff utility blade then shape in the lathe the cork for the 2 piece split grip. I use scotchbrite to remove whats left. Dont sound like the area is very large so you can try an option that Tom suggested. Good luck.

I now cut Texalium with a diamond blade in a wet tile saw. It takes the fiberglass dust out of the picture that irratates me and makes a good clean cut. Just handling this stuff after purchasing will have my wrist itching like crazy. After using the wet saw and rinsing the pieces with water I have no problems. You have to watch texalium on the cut off ends as it will flake some, masking tape wil

I agree with Robert & Ray, Rainshadow has one of the best blanks I've found for dropshotting, the ISB 822.5 is perfect. I've built several of these and fish with them too. I used mine on saturday and caught fish in 30 and 40 feet of water, very sensitive feel, I built mine with Texalium handle material from Lamiglas. The guys that have bought these rods say its there favorite rod to fish. Can
