What are some good options for a reasonably priced drop shot blank?

Brian, I have both the Batson Forecast RX6 SB822.5 and the Batson Rainshadow RX7 ISB822.5. Both are great with the edge to the slightly higher priced RX7. I built the RX8+ ISB822.5. for a customer and he loves it!
St. Croix also makes some very good XF tip blanks but the only one I personally have is the 63MXF and I haven't drop shotted with it yet. Chuck Re: Drop Shot Blanks

I understand the RX7 822.5 is out of stock and I am anxious to get building Re: Drop Shot Blanks

Last time I checked, Bob at Custom Tackle was sitting on a pile of them AND they were on sale. Give him a call - sponsor to the left.

I second Karrys choice. Building one now and my son can forget about ever beating me again. Re: Drop Shot Blanks

Thanks Jim and all. I have heard and read good things about the 822.5 and have emailed Custom Tackle to discuss

The ISB 822.5 is as good as it gets for the price. I have built many of these in the RX7 and recieved alot of positive comments, I have 2 myself and there among my favorites, maybe because I would rather catch em dropshoting than topwater. Very light and crisp with a good tip. Also picked up Lamiglas at the rod expo that was highly recomended by an avid angler and rodbuilder its a LSJ 862 in the IM 700 series but been too busy to build, blank feels good though, and its a 7 footer. I think the St.Croix 4C69MLXF & 5C68MXF blanks with Fuji components is one of the best set up for a drop shot rod out there. I have built a lot of them for tournament guys some spinning some conventional casting but I think the best is a spiral wrap.
Just lately I got some Castaway blanks that I think will be good also. Check with Bill Stevens or Lance Dupre at Swampland for Castaway blanks they both are great people to work with. Lynn Williams Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
