Hey all, just wondering what the matching tip top is for the BVS3TLG guides. Is it the BPLT? Or is there something else that would be a better match.

The only advice that I could give, is that for back bays you can get away with a 7 or 8 wt if you wanted. For surf, some guys might go up to a 10 or 12 wt. I have 2 9' 9wt and if the wind is blowing I have a difficult time casting into the surf, granted casting ability has a huge impact as well, although there have been times where the fish were at your feet and i wish I had a fly rod. If I ha

104. Need info on a guide
I need a little help with identifying a guide. My dad bought a rod at a yard sale that was in need of a guide. I have no idea what type of guide it is, I am looking for something similar, not necessarily identical. My second issue is that the guide that needs to be replaced is missing the ring and the guide is deformed. The metal ring measures anywhere from .886 and .910 depending of the def

105. Re: Fueling A Myth?
I have tried both, and in my limited experience thread with CP is easier to remove from the blank than thread without CP. I had to replace a few guides that had been broken. The thread with out CP were a PITA to remove where on the rod that I had used CP I was able to pull the thread of with the rod in the wrapper and spin it in reverse. While this is by no means a scientific test, this is my

Billy, truth be told, I forgot I had the blanks hanging in the basement to begin with, LOL. I have a couple of other blanks I have to build on first, including 2 Swampland Castaway blanks that I picked up at the show, so the others aren't a priority. But if I am able to make a fall gatheing I will toss 'em in the truck.

Wow, great info Billy. Funny thing is I thought it was softer than I am used to, LOL. Not too sure what I'm going to do with it yet. If only I can figure out what the specs for the other blanks that I have hanging from the rafters are.

I have a Lamiglas GBT 84 1M blank in the basement, that has been there a while. Does anyone have the specs on this blank? I used to have an older blank catalog, but I must have organized and threw it out, LOL.
Thanks

Thanks Tom, I have primarily used the alconite guides from Fuji and would like to try the comparable Batson ring material and see how they compare.
Robert, maybe "=" was a bad choice of wording, I was looking for the most comparable material to the corresponding fuji ring material if that makes sense.

Fernando, for tossing bait or plugs, ocean or bays, and what types of weights, and what price range. There's lots of rods that will handle bass and blues.

Hey all got a question for you. I have used only fuji guides on the rods that I have built. I looked at the Batson Guides at the show, they looked sharp especially the VS3. That being said I am a little confused regarding the ring materials. Best I could figure:
Batson "H" Ring = Fuji Hardaloy
Batson Zirconium = Fuji Alconite
Batson Blue TiO, Tin Gold, Chameleon, and PVD TiCh O
