I have seen posts talking about articles in the new issue od Rodmaker and I was wondering if I should have received it yet, or am I still on time to receive it?
Thanks
Tony

Aaron, if you're near Long Island there is a basic course in April. Not sure if I can link to the info, but if you want it e-mail me.

273. Re: Mixing Rod Bond
I have been using Stainless Steel mixing spoons to measure it out. Scoop out a glob and scrape the peak off back into the container. Repeat with the other container. It has worked very well for me for the past 3 rods that I built. It also lets yopu vary how much to mix. Sometimes a tsp of each is enough, other times I used a tbs of each.

Eric, I really like the Fuji BMNAG guides on the Surf Rods that I have built. I have a GSB 131 1L with the BSVLG's and a GSB 1201M with the BMNAG's. I really like the look of the BMNAG's plus they are a lighter frame. I used the 40mm as the butt guide.

James, on the mailing label of your last issue, next to your name is a number (ex. 8-2) The last issue is 8-1. I hope this explains it well enough. If not, I'm sure Tom will be able to address your question when he winds down from Charlotte.

276. Re: Rod Bond
I use the measuring spoon method, it has worked well for me. Then I mix on a piece of cardboard that is covered with Aluminum foil. So far so good.

I agree with Tom, the Shimano Stradic 4000 is a good choice. I use one on a 7' myself. Another shimano reel would be the Spheros 4000. You could also look at the Penn slammer 360 or 460. Hope this helps.

Hey guys for the @#$%& of it I'm thinking of building an inexpensive 9' 2pc rod as a travel rod (going to CR this spring). I realize that a 9' 2pc rod is a bit big but the fly rod that I am bringing is a 9' 2pc, so my rod tube will already be 4.5'. I was wondering if anyone has seen or used the following blanks:
1- Janns Sportsmans Series IM6 9' MH Fast Action - 1/2 - 2 1/2oz part
