Without a doubt go for the Bushido series, and throw some microwave guides on with a lil' split grip! Thats the move!
I got one and the thing is so light I forget i'm holding it!

Explain this to me. So you sit there with a big parabolic rod and you are hooked up to a 300lb yellow fin. You want to sit there and hold the rod and let the reel do all of the work. It just doesn't add up for me. The other day someone mentioned to me that it "tires the fish out" quicker because it has more constant pressure. But if you have a faster action rod with more balls, you can

I have a Seeker Hercules GTS70H, and I have had the blank for a while. It was my first build. I built it, hated it the way it looked, stripped it, and now I have the blank. when i stripped it i damaged a lot of the finish around the guides. I want to take all of the blue finish off. Should i do this? how do i go by doing this? and what do i need to take as a precaution!
Thanks

Geoff, I would love to give you a call but the problem is that I have come down with a case of strep throat and my voice sounds like a scratchy record. Thats the only reason I'm on the computer today, and decided to post.
Can we take this over email? Or maybe i can call another time?
Thanks for being considerate.

My drying motor on my Pac Bay Lathe wont turn off.... It keeps spinning and spinning and spinning. Nothing but problems with this lathe. Dont mean to bash it but, what on earth is going on? The only way it turns off is if unplug the entire thing. I can use the wrapping motor still, but its annoying having the rod drying motor spin.

I puy my epoxy on at 140 or so RPM, then I dry on an 8rpm, but i would reallllllyyy like to get an 18. My rod lathe only had an 8rpm motor though :(
But yeah, you can dry at any speed you prefer, i use threadmaster high build, so if they made a 12 rpm motor it would be right up my alley!

What do you expect. IF you wrap the thread tightly, and especially if you have three layers of thick thread, they finish would most likely not go through as much as you would like, but if you use the same amount of water as you did the guide wraps, you would probably have similar results.

26. Re: Threadmaster
Dont bother with the power mixer. All it does is cause problems. IMHO, get a shot glass or small candle holder from the dollar store, mix it up in there with one of those metal spatulas from mudhole. I mix it up like scrambled eggs, then put it on the rod, and hit it with the propane/butane torch!
tight wraps

Wait for billy vivona to comment on this. He designed the blanks, and he knows more about the spacing then most people.

Rainsahdow SU1385, ive seen people using it off the beaches in florida. I think its like 2-6, but i heard its #1 for the pomapnos. yyou need to cast far enough out to get over the bar, so that sounds like the right blank
