What is everyone’s choice for inletting cork handles for seats. I can’t find a crafty’s cutter anywhere. I was thinking Forstner bits with tubing in the grip to keep it good and straight. Thanks in advance!

I am almost out of Rodancer Chromaseal and started looking for another bottle only to read on their website (which I now remember) that they were acquired by Mudhole. Mudhole doesn’t carry Chromaseal so I guess I am asking anyone on here that used Chromaseal - what did you find that you like now? So Tom, I guess in your opinion - there is no equivalent to the microwave guide system at this time?

I have built quite a few inshore rods using the Microwave guide system with micro guides. I really like the line management of this system. 7 ft 10-18 lb blanks. I would like to build the same blank with Fuji guides that would come as close as possible to the line management. Have any of you found the closest Fuji guide train for this? Recommendations please.

For those that were following - I tried wrapping with the Madeira cones on the carriage the same way as a small spool and it seems to work fine that way - just a little bit of “sticky” occasionally but it didn’t affect anything. Thanks Roger ! I think I will go that route and make the device mentioned above for moving the thread off to the top as the spool is designed to be used. FYI - the 12V control system I got from you is still running strong and I love it!

I thought about that Roger but a lot I have read mentioned fuzzies after coming through the tensioner - Maybe that was because of to much tension.

Daryl, That’s not a bad idea! If nothing else and I have issues with the thread slipping when under tension because of the cross wound Madeira thread spool- I could definitely transfer the thread to a spinning reel spool and either use the spool on the carriage or easily transfer the thread from the reel spool to a thread spool which would then have the thread stacked instead of wound.

That looks like the way to go - only problem I have is a tensioner that would have to be mounted to my Renzetti thread carriage as it is designed to hold tension on the spool itself. Ideas?

As I understand it - Madeira thread is on a cone shaped holder and the thread is designed to come off vertically. Have anyone used this 1100 yd. Spool when horizontal- like on a Renzetti thread carriage? Or do you recommend transferring the thread to the smaller straight spools?

Thanks Jim, That’s the photo I saw not long ago. I also have a reversible motor I got from Roger Wilson and it works great! The only difference in our lathes is my thread carriage is mounted under the track. But, I see what you did and I’m sure I can come with something that will work for me. I received your book and the wonder weaver - BOTH are excellent!!! They have put me down the rabbit

So I started my 1st weave with the wonder weaver on a renzetti lathe and the way the thread carriage is behind the lathe - the thread lays under the blank and over the top. This makes the weave center location on the side of the blank facing me. It seems as though it should be facing up. Jim, Last question (for now????) I assume the WW 2 is basically in case you do not have anywhere to lock down the the rear or the left end. And the WW 1 gives more thread control. Correct?
