The line I see runs from the butt of the blank toward the tip - it doesn’t spiral around it

Sorry Tom - obviously I have my terms incorrect - it was used by the manufacturers customer service person.
I could see the edge of the fabric along the length of the blank.

I am looking for inshore blanks - 7’, fast action, medium and medium heavy power. I want the blanks just clear coated. I tried blanks from a company I usually buy this type blank but out of 7 - I could see the scrim line running up the blanks so I returned them.
Anyone have recommendations?

Tom,
I have used Mud Hole and I think they are fine, I am just looking for another source.
Actually I would like to find some Eastern diamondback skins - as in Florida.

Anyone have a good source of rattlesnake skins ready for inlays? (Other than Mud Hole). I have a matching 6 rod order with the inlays in the split grip and fore grip areas.

Thanks Russ,
I have built on a number of blanks from Rod geeks and really like their inshore series. I did however order a natural with clear coat and had to return it - j could see a line in the glass or scrim. I returned it to St Croix as they had just taken over management from what I understood. I requested info on what happened to cause that but never heard back from.
I just sent an emai

Are the TFO axiom 2 fly blanks available to rod builders ? If so, who carries them?
Thanks,

Miss print on my post above - I gave a 24v dc 200 rpm motor- sorry

Definitely look at what Roger has - I worked with him on my set up.
I have a similar control box, foot pedal, and knob speed control. The motor I use is a 12v 200 rpm. I can spin it to 160 rpm max, 6 rpm min.- so it allows you to finish and dry without moving anything but a knob.
It also is reversible which helped me wrap on a renzetti right to left instead of left to right like normal people!?

I seem to remember a post a few years ago that stated it could be done with a product like rod bond. Tape everything off, mix it, apply it with a spatula, let set for short time, then use a wet finger to smooth it out to the shape you want.
Then you can put your thread over it and put what you like.
I have used Flexcoat to build a ramp from the blank to the end of the fore grip(then wrap) inste

I used the same 2k and it worked great - I build a 3 sided box, then used a 100 rpm motor to spin the rod while I coated it - 3 times. The motor was at one end outside of the box. Then to be safe - I put an exhaust on the back of the “paint booth” ???? out of a 12v blower used for inboard motor compartments. It was placed behind ac filters to catch the overspray . Also wore a respirator. Don’t br

All I know is what I was told - and I don’t really care how businesses are set up - most likely for tax shelters or some other financial reason. So, I was told by a representative of St Croix - who by the way works there and should have no reason to lie to me- that St. Croix would be taking care of any Rodgeeks warranty issues and business is moving forward - with that said I am satisfied and

Hello everyone!
No more mystery - I called St. Croix today and spoke with customer service - they are indeed handling any warranty or other issues for Rodgeeks. I have taken photos of the issues I have with the blanks I received and emailed them to St. Croix as instructed. My issues will be taken care of and Rodgeeks orders will still be available moving forward per my conservation. I did throw

All I know is that I loved the rod blanks I was getting from them- they very straight and had a super consistent bend when the identical rod blanks from 2 different orders were tested with the same amount of weight!
The painted reel seats were awesome as well!
Pricing was also excellent!
Customer service has always been exceptional - Untill NOW!
I just I wish I could contact someone to disc

They were not the SCV blanks - but it doesn’t really matter if you can’t get in touch with anyone - like I said before - received the blanks 4 weeks ago now and I’m 6 emails, 6 left messages with 0 response!
