Hi all, I have an old 2 piece spinning rod that I want to covert into a 1 piece rod. I am wondering whether I should just epoxy the 2 pieces together, then build up the lower side with thread and epoxy followed by decorative thread work over the joint or should I cut the rod so the 2 pieces (diameter) match and install a ferrel inside the rod? The second method may be easier to cover with thr

I have read and understand the new concept guide placement for spinning rods, but I am in the process of refurbishing a few boat rods with level wind reels on them. I have read custom thread art/advanced custom rod building- I understand that the spacing (center to center) for a single wrap is the same as the circumference and for a double wrap it is 1/2 the circumference. Question 1. What is it

Hi guys, I would like to know how the line strength and lure weight are determined by the manufacturer for rod blanks. Is there a calculation or test that can make this determination? I would like to trim a rod and the amount I want to trim will be substantial and I want to reclassify the specs on the rod. Is this possible? Thanks!

Sorry, just read Dale Clemens rod art and he called it the base wrap but referenced it as a tie off or tie down wrap - tying down the ends of the butt wrap. My diamond wrap was A thread - should I used D thread to tie it down?
