I once knew a guy that I considered a very good pro. He did Diamonds and Chevrons under power. He had what appeared to be a slow rotation motor, my guess between 6-12 rpms. and he had foot control. The work looked very good, he had it down.

There are many glitter on the market. Flexcoat has several different colors and it is "fine grained". When you mix the epoxy, mix it for two minutes before adding the glitter. Add the glitter and continue mixing for about 30 seconds. If you add the glitter first it will affect the cure of the finish.

EVA is perhaps the best all purpose grip material. You would be hard pressed to find any faults. I personally like medium density, I dont like the hard stuff.

Flexcoat rod glue works good. Its a fluid. It helps as both lubricant and bonding agent, and allows for easy cleanup. It sets in a bout 20 minutes.

It's a term loosely used, but sounds good for marketing. Few realy understand what it means, but a mfgr can do a slight twist of materials, and ypu have a conposite.

Roger, I agree. Thats the beauty of the Flexcoat machine. While it does use high rpm's, the motors torque is 'weak', therefore the user can hold the blank 'tightly', and allow the rod to spin as if letting the clutch of a car. The takeoff is smooth, and the higher speed makes a more uniform wrap.

If you slam a guide against any hard substance, a rock, a boats railing, EXPECT failure. It's common sense. Dont blame the guide.
Darrin did a great job of explaining the 4 brace guide that I was referring to. You would be hard pressed to find a better guide in a casting style frame. As for carboloy, I disagree. It actually is, as Tom said, a very good and durable design. I only use them on

Flexcoat's direct drive rod wrapper is the easiest to use. You will wrap rods about three times faster with that bench versus the fancy aluminum ones.

If you get on their website, or a dealers site you might see a chart with the actual thickness of each thread. C or D are good all purpose threads, for Metallics I like size A.
