If someone has the means to bore a straight 3/4" hole in a 1.5" x 1.5" x 13" and a 5/8 hole in a 10" piece of ebony, email me if you would, I'd appreciate it. I'm not setup to do it and am having trouble finding someone local.
Thanks

92. Re: Guide Repair
I realize this is dated but I'll give my 2 cents anyway. As others have suggested, don't use TI plate, they're cheap and a waste of money. After two seasons or so you'll see signs of corrosion. If your friend likes his rod well enough to re-guide it, go with solid titanium and be done with it. Every time he throws a lure he'll notice his new guide job and won't be happy after a couple years if

I'm ordering a few spools now.
You might consider The Sewphisticated Stitcher. They have a considerable selection.

I made a mistake. 1801 and a few others are on the color card. I over looked it because they don't look white to me. I'll look at them tomorrow in the sunlight.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I have their color card and there is no white in this thing.

I'm planning on doing a butt wrap with Polyneon thread but need white which they don't have. Can someone suggest a white thread that has the same sheen, if that's the right word? I don't want a flat color.

I think this wrap is about the same as others I've done but maybe not. I'll tighten up a little and see what happens.

I just finished a butt wrap then added color preserver prior to the tie off to hold things in place. The problem is a boat load of threads stretched out of shape and I don't know why. I'm wondering if it may have been from massaging threads into place. My layout was off a bit so I had to work the threads more than I like.
Any thoughts?

This is a 7' heavy action that's been extended to 8'. If there's no known ill effects I won't worry about it.

Are there any thoughts or guidelines on how far to stay away from the joint of a two piece. My second guide looks really good setting just in front of the joint but I don't want to be too close if there's consequences.

The problem with Fuji is they're sizing makes no sense, at least not to me. A size 30 fits in the 25 size range which is crap when the only published information is a bunch of glitz and glitter about how fantastic they're rings are. Since Fuji's bouncing emails maybe American will respond and step up with some spec's. They have more sizes anyway.

102. Guide specs. needed
Anyone have guide specs/measurements for any of the titanium guides, I'll take any manufacturer. I'd like to match as closely as possible Fuji TSVSG's. I need sizes 25 and 30 ring ID with about the same height from the foot base to the inside bottom of the ring. Any help would be appreciated.

106. Looking for a blank
Does anyone know where I might find an 8' one piece graphite, slow action blank with a butt size under .7? Casting weight about 3 to 4 ounces.

The Penn Slammer is very durable and can handle pretty much what ever you can through at it. I service many different types, most of which are made to self destruct. The Penn's have the least number of problems provided its serviced once in awhile and not drown during washing.

108. Re: Cutting a blank
I'm going against the grain here but with good reason. The best or least damaging way to cut a rod is by using a fine file. The finer the better. Jewelers files would work best but aren't necessary. Simply turn the file on its edge and start slowly cutting while turning the blank until you get through. Allow the file to do the work by not cutting to deep on any one stroke. When using the righ

Bill, I noticed you have bronze in your guide color chart. Is that a ring color or bronze material? I'm actually interested in deep green casting guide set but a brownish color may work instead.
Thanks

I'm looking for information, help or opinions for guide one diameter and length off the blank in relation to the reel spool diameter and length from the seat. Also the taper to the tip.
My common sense tells me the best setup for guide sizes would be a straight taper from guide one to the tip. It should give the least amount of resistance while casting provided the first guide has the proper
