Joseph, If he currently has one just run a thread pitch gauge on it and you will find out in a second. I am currently not at home but when I get there tonight I will measure out the one that I have and let you know what I come up with. Tom Kaufmann GySgt USMC

thanks for all of the great suggestions and advice guys!! I am going to try and order them today before I take off for my tournament this evening. Russ, thank you VERY much for the offer, I do think that I will decline though. I have a set of the double foots in both the black and tich as well. I also have some size 16 pac bay sic's that are in the way too. I really don't think that I will ever u

Good morning to you all. I am in need of a bit of help, I have been working with my stepdaughter on making a light spinning rod that is build on an All-Star IM10X 722 blank. She would like to continue the blue theme of the rod with the guides. She really likes the new A frame with the blue inserts (the frames have the matte style finish on them not the chrome), this is where I need some help. I h

Hi Guys, I will give ya a little first hand with the 65 pound braid. I currently use it on a couple of rods and have not had a lick of problems from either. One of them is my frog rod and I also use it on a sh764 as well for flipping too. Yes, it is really overkill and I will be changing out this year just cause I can and I want to experiment with some new braids this season. I do keep in mind t

David, It definately can become consuming but fortunately enough it is an addiction in which you can recoupe some of your losses at times.... I will say that my R&D far outweighs anything that I may be lucky enough to sell. I, as you only build for myself, family and friends. I stick with the basic functional and non flashy stuff.. I will say that my attention to detail has gone through the

Jason, Are the new blanks going to be a bare or coated finish? I am not too sure if many people have expressed this but I know that I would LOVE to see a bare matte finished blank in the SCV material. I hope that they continue to be just as light and sensitive as the curretnly are or even more so!! You guys have some GREAT products that I love to build on!! thanks, Tom Kaufmann GySgt USMC

I have gone with chestnut without CP and really liked the stealth look that it provided, it blended almost perfectly with the Loomis crankbait rod that I build. I have also done garnet tipped with copper metallic and liked that look as well. I understand what you are talking about. I have a couple of SCV's that I am trying to work up a color scheme for right now. I am almost to the point of st

Steve, After talking with you I did make it over to Tom's booth and I got a chance to take a look the this very rod that is being discussed. I was AMAZED!!!! I agree with Tom, in trying to figure out why no one has come up with this idea!!!!!! Definately something that needs to be seen. My wife looked at me and asked how come you didn't think of that? I could only say "I really don't know,

Duane, I was able to cast one of the rods built by Steve Gardner while I talked to him about it. The rod that I cast was his Senko rod and was fabulous. I have what I thought was a VERY nice Senko rod.... so much for that now!!! Thanks Steve! LOL now I have to order up a new blank and some more things to go with it! It was very easy to cast and exceptionally light in hand. Try the little guide

you might also try and use two small strap wrenches like they sell at Sears.. they work pretty good at getting stuff like that apart. You will just need to make sure that you get it close to one another so as not to create so much torsional force that you shear the blank.

Steve, I appreciate the clarification that you suppleid for the comparison. I was just wanting to make sure on what you were trying to say. I have not had the chance to handle any of the Steeze rods but I have built 2 rods in the same fashing that you make yours and I have to say that they are by far the absolute lightest that I have ever had in my hand bar none!! Thank you for sharing all

So just to clarify how you feel on these Steve, you think that the Steeze will out-perform the Loomis and Croix but not the rx8? I've not yet had the pleasure to play with any of the RX8's yet but plan on doing so this weekend at the show. I am very curious to hear what you have to say about them as I too like many bass guys try to get the best stuff that I can for myself!! thanks, Tom

I have successfully done 1/2 cc mixes many times just make sure that you are very accurate in measuring and completely thorough in mixing as well. Other than that....do what normally do with your epoxy. Tom Kaufmann GySgt USMC

Guys, maybe I need to start drinking more but is not a trigger spincast reel hung below the handle just as a spinning reel would be? In that case wouldn't he want to utilize spinning guides BYAG or similar vice the double footed casting guides that have been recommended? If it is the case of spinning wouldn't he want to start out with something like a 16 or possibly 20?

Tom, I had tried a test wrap and it came out well, I think not filling the tunnels was my culprit. Andy, I REALLY look forward to seeing that tutorial. Mike, I agree with you yellow is a complete PAIN in the butt. I will give the white undercoat a shot if I have to play with it again. Thank you for the suggestion Grant, I do believe that I was in too much of a rush on the first wrap and packing m

Well, I have been up all night and hard at it. I have completely stripped the old wrappings and so far have 2 coats of cp on it and have paid special attention to the tunnels. I have thinned these first two coats and will most likely not thin the last two. I REALLY appreciate all of the help guys. I can only hope that it comes out right this time and the young lady that this is for is happy. On

Good evening Gents, I am at wits end. I have been working with some Maderia on a little shikari ul and have been using cp so that I don't have rejection issues and also to maintain the yellow color. Here is my problem. I am obviously too dense to figure it out on my own so I am asking how to keep epoxy from crawling back up the tunnel and creating an inadvertant tiger wrap.(I kind of like the e

Skipp, sorry I can't help you much with the blank selection. I am one of those beer swilling drooling bass guys (yes, I hear the trout guys cringing) LOL. I can however help you with the removal of the finish. All you will really need is some of the gel type strippers and mild steel wool. I have used this on many bass blanks that were painted for fellows who "had to have stealth". Some

I had this happen with an old Falcon gunsmoke. It seemed almost every time that I would fish this rod eyes would pop out while casting. It turned into a rewrap for me and until I recently broke it was a good rod. Falcon told me it was something to do with "too much tension when they were wrapped" not so sure about that but all I know it was annoying to have it happen.

Hello Gents, Was just poking around Binghams site and I noticed that she has some of the 3f903 and3f904's on sale. I am looking for a new rod that I will be using for trout and panfish with more of an emphasis on panfish. what do you guys think? any other suggestions? Thanks, Tom Kaufmann GySgt USMC

Don't know too much about that NY water but I am sure that what you are seeing is some type of corrosion. If you could possibly put up a pic maybe we could pinpoint it a little better. I know that many of the electronic assemblies that I deal with have that type of coloring on them when we have salt water intrusion into some of the aircraft panels. Tom Kaufmann GySgt USMC
