The problem is finding that blank. At one time AMTAK sold a blank that was ideal for this porpose ,But for some reason has dropped them from their line. It was an E-glass blank #ESW761 H. Mo, I would have to say that 99% of the 1pc rods I get for repair are broken from 1" to 3" behind the tip. Why ,I cant tell you,I dont get the story. On 2pc rods Its always the top half thats ges broken mostly behind the first guide after the feurrell. If a rod comes in broken near the butt, I would say Its been stepped on. I hope thi helps. Joe and Tom, The correct part # is LSH- 60(7") ,LSH-95 (8 1/4"), and LSH-140 (11") . I know , because back in the 70's anything Lew's was HOT in the circles of bass fishing and so was I. Rods with those handles could not be had here in NJ unless you built em' . I still have one complete rod built on an early ultra lite (1pc) Ugly Stick back in 1976. Check with Neal's or Summer Mo
