Anybody know of a source for 1940's-50's casting guides? I have a few requests to restore heirloom rods for wall mounts, just don't have complete sets of anything in the parts can.
Thanks,
Tom White

Yep, need to know what they look like Tom. A lot of casting rods from that era had Mildrum guides on them. Or they looked like Mildrum guides anyway. I have recently replaced guides on a "50's rod and used the Mildrum guides.

Heavy chrome boat guides are still available from Perfection. I believe REC distributes them these days.

Tom, do they look like these. I have used these for replacements on old rods.

What about going to antique swapmeets and getting the guides off of other rods. As long as it's a wall mount, then condition shouldn't matter as much, especially if the guides still look good.

Thanks guys, the Mildrums might be the way to go. These rods will have mint cond period Pfleugers on them, so I'd like to get these old rods restored so they cast well, too.
Thanks again,
TW
