Kinh, Using Rod Bond and drywall tape, I would sleeve 18" of the butt with an alumnum tube of a lesser dia. that will fit the gymbol, slick butt , and reel seat when assembled.Let rod bond dry for 24 hrs. under sleeve. Then again using Rod Bond and drywall tape, fit the gymbol, slick butt, and reelseat onto the tube making sure the reelseat and gymbol are aligned. If you were using Stewart T

Derrek, If you fish out of Keyport or Seawarn ask Duke to give you a lesson in bucktailin' for Fluke or just watch him. He's in the money on most days. His blank of choice is a St.Croix 2S70HF2. I take 9 inches off both ends.He likes Fuji alconites set up for casting gear with a split grip. All black he likes the Stealt look. And thats it! It's his design and he's happy.

Ridge, After a boo boo like that, I dont beleve not one of the gods that responded can help you. How many gods do you have anyway, and are they all online just waiting to be called upon? I think you should be careful calling for gods assistance on a rodbuilders fourm, after all, there are false gods in rodbuilding too! Sacrafice the lamb and start over. It will make you a better rodbuilder, teach

The next time you restring your guitar, save those old strings. They come in real handy for cutting grip material and in different gauges too! Like when you need to trim a blank, use the heavy gauge E string. The spiral outer winding acts like a saw and cuts cleanly without any burs or splinters. Give it a try.

Greg, I attended that show last year and met a guy that was showing/selling his rods that belonged to a club that was colled Tri State Rodbuilders. He was just over the river in Pa. and invited me to come to thier meetings if I wanted. If your looking to get together with other builders look him up when you go to the show or take up Billys offfer and plan to attend a NERBS event.

Its about 20 mins. from Sayreville. There most likely will be some shops that build but dont expect to see much of it going on. Like Billy said, it,s a big place and the parking lot overflows so you know its going to be packed. Plenty to look at and people to talk to. A good way to kill an afternoon. Oh yeah, bring cash! Hi Jeff, Thanks for the info, Like you I'm an underground wrapper too and was always fighting the dust problem. At one time I bought a filtration system but it was too big to hang and sent it back. I'll check into what have and see if it's good for my shop. Thanks, Dennis j. Danku (Sayreville,NJ)

Derrek, The most economical way around this situation is to take a hands on approch, and this is how I would do it. Attend some of your local upcomming fishermen flea markets. You'll find alot of rodbuilding items (new /used) that can be inspected right on the spot with prices that end in a whisper. Another thing you can do while your there if your budget

Tom, With all thats new in rodbuilding since the turn of the centry (2000) I dont see how you can fit all of that info into one book for $25.00. I was thinking more in the way of a 26 volume encyclopedia @ $25. a vol. I'm on board for whatever you pen. Good reading, Dennis J. Danku (Sayreville,NJ)
