Great then. Im wanting to build a MHX frog rod spiral, this will be my first spiral build. Is there any more tips you guys have beyond Tom's book i have. I will copy his degrees he says but was wondering if there was anything else added up to this day?

ok, I had a conversation with a fella that said he wouldn't use spiral on a rod that uses less than 15# line, this is why I was asking. His oppinion was spiral should start at 15 pound line and up.

Tip top installed with 5 minute epoxy, and i didn't use a flame for bubbles. only times i used a flame was on my keeper wrap, tiger wrap and my #12 guide, this was my procedure Bob. As for the tension wraps, i wrapped loose on tiger wrap and tip top, others tighten as seen needed upon build. i will try to post pics if i can get one that picks up the detail. I may need to do something for

No Bob, I did not split a tip on the build, I was mentioning about needing to now if I was to match up with my #4 guides. But the origanle build was built normal tip NO split. Since I have you here on this, what is your opinion on the rod look of a explosion snap?

Alex where's this article? I would love to learn more on the apperance of breaks. Like I said this to me looks like a explosion? By the way, its a MB782 and I have another, I bought 2, the others my son's and if the same happens to it I'll let ya guys know, Untill then all is well and Sean & Mark convinced me its worth it to salvage it. I need to match up a tip to my #4 micros and I d

I see two rods not three on this subject? Gary H. its not a clean break and its not splintered, it looks to me like a explosion? You think its a build issue? Again, MHX Blanks are Just Fine, nothing to see here. Just a fellow builder wondering if he should fix it and move on.

it looks like an inch is what i lost on the tip. As for MHX blanks I would buy another, IMHO they are great. Theres nothing wrong with them Bob R. im just asking if its worth fixing or replacing cause im not sure? With losing a Inch, how much would that change the rod, I used it for throwing plastics?

I got to decide on claiming my first warranty, Is it worth going thru it or replace the tip? Like to hear from fellow rod builders on this, I have alot of work in it and was wondering if its worth just keeping it and replace the rod tip instead of sending it back and hopefully get the rod replaced, I know that I'd have to get new hardware and my stickers and such. I just never have claimed a w

was wondering if anyone has played around with this? I did alittle today, I didn't lay it on too thick, and now Im thinking of doing a tiger wrap this way, add giltter to the first stage of wrap, then lay the second wrap on top with no glitter, don't know if this will affect the 3-D very much? What ya think?

I had a pacbay minima exposed reel seat I never used and well i used it, I need a pointer on what instrument to use for sealing up the edge on the hardest side so no water gets thru, its the model GMC165 spinning , the inside curve degree is what I gotta do, Not the straight flat side where you simply stand the pole up right. I was thinking 5 minute epoxy so it would not have a chance to run

Thanks fellas, its only the first coat so, I know im gonna have to be carefull. This all started because i was trying to clean up bleed off from F.C. color preserver. Im mad at myself for completely not cleaning off the bleed off first. I figured I would after i applied the first finish coat, lesson learned. so I want to save this build, its my first MHX rod build and first TigerWrap as well
