211. Wrapping threads
Last night I was looking at some very nice examples of wrapping and weaving on another web site. There were so many colors used and I was wondering where some of you get your threads. I'm thinking of brands and sources other than the standard Gudebrod threads. I would appreciate any replies.Dave

Ran low on thread and there is no place locally to pick some up, so I am considering using my wife's 100% rayon thread. Is about the same diameter as A thread.
Is this a good idea? Is rayon as strong as nylon? Does it hold up to sunlight as well?
Thanks in advance.

214. sulky thread
I've read on here a few times about using sulky thread so I figured I'd try some. Do any of you that use it know how well CP works on it? Over all, I'm not impressed with the stuff at all but the rod is done exept for the finish so I guess I'll see how it holds up. Anyway, CP?
Thanks, steve

215. sulkey thread
A while back someone was mentioning they wrapped their underwraps with Sulkey mettalic thread. I have found this brand in a sewing store and have decided to give it a try. Has anyone used this brand and do you need to use CP on the mettalic? Or should I stick with Guedbro?

216. Thread size
I would like to get into color change weaving sometime. I have a spool of Madeira FS 4/2 #30 1000m thread. What do the numbers mean? Does #30 mean a thinner thread than #40? What about the ratio numbers? What does 4/2 mean? I'm assuming the 1000m means 1000 meters. Sounds high though. Any help will be appreciated. John

217. THREAD
Whats everyones thoughts on using high quality embroidery thread for wrapping guides?
I know that gudebrod owns the market like debers owns the diamond market but is it the only answer for synthetic thread.
I have used gudebrode and it is a very very good product but, I recently saw some thread at the fabric store by a company named Sulky.
I was very impressed so I checked their website ,

1) Looking for some color suggestions for wraps /trim on a deep blue blank. I like a bit of contrast rather than matching the thread color to the blank.
2)Im going to try LS2000. I like the varathane 900 but 6-7 coats is a lot of steps with sanding in between and I always manage to scratch the blank or contaminate a wrap or two with doing so many steps.
3) Is CP recommended to keep thread co
