Ran low on thread and there is no place locally to pick some up, so I am considering using my wife's 100% rayon thread. Is about the same diameter as A thread. Is this a good idea? Is rayon as strong as nylon? Does it hold up to sunlight as well? Thanks in advance. TH Re: Rayon thread VS Nylon?

I´ve used "Floss d´Rayon" to wrap hook-keepers, turned out nice. I also been told some rayon has silicon so it might not be "long-lasting". I do not know about the Strength of it. Re: Would not recommend it.

Hi Tony. I did some test wraps on rayon thread since its easy to find and comes in many colors. What I found was that the rayon thread is more "fuzzy" and small strands of the thread is popping out here and there. If You compare with a good nylon thread, such as the ones from Gudebrod, You will find a more even thread with less or no "fuzzyness" (?) on the Gudebrod. You will notice this when youre applying the finish. I did. But maybe there are varius quality on rayon threads? I have not found any. Yet.... Kind regards. Guran. Re: Would not recommend it.
